Creepers and Ghasts are completely supercharged in 1.9An explosion from like 5 blocks away WILL KILL YOU.A creeper exploding a couple of blocks away managed to kill me with brand new full iron armour AND full health.Ghasts... Are just... Meh... Avoid the Nether if you like surviving or wait until you have full iron or diamond armour before entering. The good thing about 1.9PR4 is that being set on fire in the Nether isn't so bad. It will only last for a couple of seconds. Don't get me wrong. Enchanting tools is a great reward when you've managed to collect all the necessary ingredients. I'm happy that I can mine Ice now legit. The other enchantments are just for complete "lols" Breeding animals is actually a really fantastic new feature.Just be sure to cage or shove animals in a ditch so they don't escape or get themselves killed.I made a barn and a big farm to supply me with all my needs.I have a field full of sheep just for the purpose of collecting coloured wool. (I don't think wool grows back yet so I just breed the sheep and butcher the parents) Potion making... Meh I just look at that and feel like spitting at it. Doesn't really feel like a Minecraft thing to have.Although it seems to be implemented quite well and I can see it's usefulness. I doubt I'll use it too much though. Another bad part with 1.9PR4 is that mobs spawn A LOT MORE... Bad ones... Nasty evil enemies and for some reason it spawns creepers more than other mobs. You have to constantly worry about creepers... ALWAYS. You let your guard down once and they will kill you and you lose your XP for enchanting later.Completely ruining the atmosphere of the game if you ask me. I do know that creapers are bad but if they are like a stack of tnt, I don't even want to see one. I have to say I agree with you about potion making. Now you have to go and play Creative if you want to build something monumental, but it's not going to feel like a hard-earned achievement when you're done... I'll always return back to my 1.7.3 jar, it's got the best graphical mods I've ever wanted on it.They are ruining Minecraft with all these changes, it's not the game we remember playing anymore.But I do believe modders will prevail and make the game better as they have done for over a year now. Vagrant0 Posted October 26, 2011 Share Posted October 26, 2011 For Endermen, you could always just use one of the mods that stops them from picking up stuff entirely. I'm pretty sure there's a bukkit version that works. It's something that many servers dislike since it's this constant thing of blocks being removed that adds up over several days of the server being online. 1.9 will also nerf their picking I think, limiting it to sand and gravel. KDStudios Posted October 26, 2011 Share Posted October 26, 2011 Yeah Endermen grief the hell out of the server :P You should see a town I was building. It's been pulled apart literally by Endermen... I can't be bothered with the town now, no point :PThere are mods for Endermen but it's compatability with other mods being an issue especially those that alter the way other mobs act and appear. But yeah it seems that not only do we have groups of creepers that grief an area we now have Endermen to deal with.At least servers are doing the best they can to combat it. It's just waiting for 1.9 or Final release as it's sometimes known to come out.Well apparently they're supposed to be nerfed in 1.9 pre releases but if anything their damage is much more overpowered now with single hits from them being about 5 hearts! Oh and they still pick up blocks such as gravel, sand, dirt and grass.I was talking to Jeb on twitter about the damage being far too much for creepers and ghasts though, he's looking into reducing it as many others have complained about it too.
