Malchik
Kyrykki is somewhat surprised that nobody has asked him about his clue. He will not raise the matter again unless they do. He notices the flin lying where Reylas had dropped it and goes to pick it up before rejoining the group. He says: "Whoever 'he' is the guards were willing to die to keep his name secret. I don't think it's going to be so easy to find out." He glances around the still roadside. "Something is not right here. It is too quiet." But there is nothing to see. He wonders about the man who could make himself invisible. There could be others like him. Something had killed the workers on the road. He touches the pommel of his sword for reassurance. Kethruch
Corithalion returns with Elbras, and surveys what he sees when he gets there. "No chance of finding out if they came specifically from someplace up here." He reports dutifully. He looks around at the scene before him, listening to the comments of his companions. "Does anyone have the power to detect spells?" He asks. "If these are indeed as they seem to be, but they seem to have changed so dramatically before they attacked us, is there a possiblilty that they were," he pauses, "possessed? I wonder if such a possession might leave a trace afterward."He scrambles through his pack, but finds nothing that would help him with this. "Has anyone found anything that would say that these, or the men who were killed, are not simply people in the wrong place at the wrong time?" Malchik
Kyrykki leads Corithalion and Elbras aside. "I have found something I would show you all but not here. And perhaps not to him." He glances at Reylas. "We do not like each other and that is not going to change in a hurry. But if he is with us I will fight for him as much as any other. If he is as open-minded, then I will be open with him too. Otherwise I will tell you, alone." He laughs. "And you may then tell him!" "Perhaps one of you would sound him out." He walks a little way apart.
Switch
Elbras looks over to Kyrykki and blinks. "Why are you acting so paranoid? Just tell us already!"
Malchik
"You don't want to know what those wood elves did to me when I was younger. You can't trust them. Even when they seem as nice as pie they're hatching up some scheme to rob you. Paranoid. Maybe I am. But with good cause." He pulls out the documents he found on the third corpse and shows them cautiously to Elras and Corithalion. "I can't read the language but the drawing seems Dwemer to me." He stuffs them back into his pocket. "Lets get out of here and find a better place to talk."
Kethruch
Corithalion goes with Kyrykki, looks over the diagram, trying to memorize it in case his friend doesn't want to show it again. "Kyrykki, it is bad to judge all of those who look like ones who treated you badly in the past. Give this elf a chance. Thus far, he has done nothing but respond to the unkindness you have shown him. If push comes to shove, you have friends here, though I sincerely doubt that will happen." "Try talking to him. The only way that we will survive as a team is to trust each other. Tell him why you are acting the way you are toward him. If he chooses not to, then we can try something else. Let's get this out in the open before it tears us apart." He puts his arm around his companion's shoulder. "Besides," he adds with a laugh, "Why waste all of this good aggression on someone who you may need. Save it for our enemies." He walks away toward Reylas, whistling an unremarkable tune.
Switch
"Er, yes. What Corithalion said." He coughs and walks back over to the group. "Well, what now? Should we go back to Suran?"
Malchik
It goes against the grain and yet Kyrykki realises Corithalion may have a point. He approaches Reylas. "When first my mother died, I lived with an uncle. But he was often away. One time when I was alone, three Bosmer came. They broke into my home and tied my hands and feet. When they had burgled everything that they could carry they found it fun to treat me as a dog, making me eat my food from a bowl on the floor and lap up water. They whipped me for their sport - I still bear the scars. And that was only the beginning." Kyrykki breaks off his voice trembling with fierce emotion hard for the others to identify. Gaining control he continues: "I'm told that I should not judge you with them. I will attempt to put what's past behind and offer you my hand in friendship. Will you accept?" Daemarian
resheaths his blade and joins the group "...sound like nice fellows. Does anyone have a clue where we may find this chap from Balmora so that we can report our finding? I could help but notice that he didn't tell us how to contact him concerning information we find...suppose he'll just appear at some time and ask?" takes on a deep in thought look
Sol'Kanar
Reylas studies Kyrykki's face as he speaks, making certain that the Nord is being genuine. Satisfied in the nord's sincerity, he replies, "Perhaps I have misjudged you. At least I now know the reason for your actions, and we can move on from it. I too know what such tortures feel like. You are not the only one who has had a..rough..life." As he's speaking, Reylas's eyes seem to flare black for a moment, then return to their natural color. "As for your offer, I must decline. I agree to forget our past conflict, but I do not give my friendship lightly, for I take such a bond much more seriously than most folk I have met."
