Over hears that their employer is here but decides that only one person really needs to talk with him. Besides all he did was kill one of the guards, other than that he really didn't have anything to report. He'll leave the reporting to the ones that actually made discoveries...wait, maybe he knows who this he that the last guard was talking about is. And with that Saeroth follows Corithalion upstairs.

To Saeroth and Corithalion:

"I'm coming, and this had better be important!" an annoyed voice yells from inside. Finally, the door opens, revealing the man who hired you. As he pulls his cloak closer around him, you notice a long slash wound across his chest. His sword is still on his belt, but you see his other equipment in a pile on the floor, much of it looking to be in much worse condition than when you first saw him. As he recognizes you, the anger fades from his expression, and his next words are in a far more pleasant tone. "Well, that was quick. What did you find out?"

To Kyrykki and Elbras:

Tray of drinks in hand, the bartender walks by your table as you talk. As you finish your sentence, he leans over and quietly says "I overheard your conversation.... bartender's job and all, and I think that your employer would like to hear it as well. He's upstairs in room eight. And I might suggest speaking a bit more quietly, not everyone in this world is as friendly to you as I am." Message delivered, he walks off to serve another party at a nearby table.

"First of all, can I interest you in some bread, cheese and wine?" He looks concerned over the condition of the man. "May I be of other assistance as I tell you the story?" He waits for an answer, and does whatever the man allows. "The three men, we found dead and their pockets rifled. They did not however, find a dwemer-looking schematic that the three men were carrying, we did. We encountered some imperial guards who at first seemed to be a normal patrol, but then attacked us without provocation." He stops for a second. "That's the short version. Would you like me to gather everyone together so that you can address us on whatever you have in mind. I would suggest including whatever speculation you have regarding why the imperials would attack us like that." He looks over the condition of the man. "Perhaps in an hour?"

<ooc: sorry for the confusion, the man's wounds are already bandaged/etc>

To Saeroth and Corithalion:

"No thanks, I've already eaten" he says, "and my own injuries are both minor and dealt with. But please continue." He listens carefully to your story, then after a bit of thought, then replies. "Good, I'd hoped you would get there in time. And this confirms all my worst fears, the Empire is trying to cover up whatever's behind my trouble. This, and a few other things, bring me a bit closer to an understanding of the situation. But I'll need those notes before I can make a more definite plan. Wait here a moment." He walks back into the room, and retrieves a bag from the table. He hands you the bag. "Here's your pay, you've more than earned it. Now I need some time to think... and some rest. Have your friend bring me whatever you found, then come back tomorrow afternoon. I should have another job for you by then." Without waiting for a reply, he closes the door.

He turns to Kyrykki.

"Hmm, I'll go and show him the copy, you wait here."

He walks up the stairs and up to room eight. He knocks on the door.

Corithalion goes to his companions, relays the message and delivers the reward - not taking any for himself. Tomorrow afternoon, he thinks to himself. That leaves some time to recover and see some more sights of Balmora. He goes to his room and calls it an evening.
