Habassa: The RPG

[Peregrine]

To Reylas:

The door swings open, revealing your employer. Before you can say anything, he grabs you by the shoulder and shoves you in and onto the bed. "What the hell were you thinking?" he yells at you, hand dropping to his sword. "I told you to keep it quiet! Now instead of a stealth mission I get half the city knowing something's going on!" He stops for a moment, as if his anger has stolen his ability to speak. "Are they dead yet? Did they get any idea you were together?" The questions come one right after the other, before you can answer. "Did you at least get in unspotted? Tell me you did at least that much..." At the last part, his tone changes to almost desperation.

 

To Akkli:

Fortunately for you, you are just far enough behind Reylas in getting to the room that you avoid a similar fate. From the doorway you witness the same events, but for now, your employer doesn't seem to be aware of your presence.

[Sol'Kanar]

"Take your hands off me, "sir," Reylas says, glaring daggers.

 

"For one, anything I did told them no more than they already knew. That bumbling idiot who was my distraction chose the most foolish method of doing so, and in the process got himself killed. Anything else I did pales in the face of the publicity that got. Anyway, there's no possible way of stealing a book and having it go completely unnoticed: it would be discovered at some time. My belief is they know it's missing, though I switched the book covers so a cursory examination won't reveal what I stole. Furthermore, it's entirely unlikely they know who took it: their last reccolection of myself would not give the impression of a thief."

 

"It's a wonder the book was successfully taken at all, given some of the idiots you sent along. What with Shadow trying to sacrifice the mission to save himself from his own stupidity, and Jouko drawing so much attention to himself as to get himself killed. Akkli here was the only level-headed one of the bunch: though he missed the brunt of the action, he didn't foul anything up."

 

"Now, shall we discuss the price of the logbook?"

[Acoran]

At mention of his name Akkli steps quietly in the room and shuts the door. "Ahem...last saw anyone who saw Reylas would think him least likely to have been te culprit. I was watching the enterance and saw him go in, he never came out, next I saw he was on the boat back to ebonheart. If anythign they would think this culprit some 'flashy' person the the two distraction 'they' used."

[Malchik]

Kyrykki in the second row of the arrow formation follows Khar-tul and encourages the others. "There's nothing obvious in the middle of the room. Lets make a circuit of the walls. One of you keep a watch on the rear."

[Switch]

Elbras walks along side Kyrykki and takes point in front of Khar-tul when he gets the chance. Once they arrive in the shrine chamber, he looks around and whispers...

 

"Well, nothing obvious here... look out for traps."

[Emry]

Aeden stands on the final step before entering the shrine "proper" and surveys the room.

 

"I've got rearguard."

[LALALA]

"Don't touch anything!",says Khar-tul,"Maybe these gems are cursed"

[wesaynothin]

"I'd say line guard now. An arrow formation wouldn't work as well in here. to easy to get flanked." Avelyn points out, stepping out of formation.

[Kethruch]

"What gems?" Corithalion looks at Khar-tul with an eyebrow raised. "Thanks Aeden" he says quietly. "I am sorry I wasn't myself there for a little bit." He then looks above, slowly scanning around the ceiling of the room, seeking any shadows or reflections that would note if there were more than one level to the ruin. "Keep your eyes open and your weapons ready - I don't like the feel of this."

To Ald Velothi Party:

Now inside, and eyes adjusted to the dim light, you are able to see the details of the room. The statue in the center dominates the room. Two doors are visible, on opposide walls. Oddly, there are no gems on the shrine. In contrast to any daedric shrines you may have seen before, the shrine seems forgotten. A few plates lie thrown carelessly on the floor, and some of the stones that form the shrine appear to have been pried up and replaced without much concern for appearance. Still no threat appears to meet you.

 

To Reylas and Akkli:

As you explain your side of the story, some of the anger seems to fade from his expression. Finally, he replies a bit more calmly "Thank Yabeth something worked right. Are you sure you got out undetected?" He stops for a moment to think. "As for the fools that nearly lost everything for us, I have orders from above. For whatever reasons there may be, I was ordered to include them. If it were up to me, I'd have killed them on sight. But you didn't hear any of that from me." He walks over to a chest on the other side of the room and retrieves a bag of coins. "Here's your pay." He sets the bag down on the bed next to you. "Ten thousand gold. I'll need a while to study that book before I'll have any more work for you. Go, rest and enjoy your money while you have time. You'll hear from me when I know our next move."
