gyrbot
In Oblivion (or TES Series), there seems to be a lack of powerful bosses where you must find a weak point and then strike it down. With the game's FPS system, one could expect some special challenges to the game. Like you can fight a special boss in a special Fort, Ayelid Ruin, Mine and Cave. Each of the unique dungeons will have a unique boss. They are more powerful then the player and cant be defeated through somewhat conventional means. You have to destroy or break through certain barriers (Like facing a Knight with inpenertrable armor, you have to push him to the spikes to deal damage to him.) Of course beating them yields special ingredients, weapons and unique items. You can do this once every 5 levels with the bosses in increased difficulty. Or does Bestheda doesnt like this idea of super bosses.
Abramul
In Oblivion (or TES Series)...Have you done the Morrowind main quest? I *have* managed to kill Dagoth Ur without destroying the Heart, but I had to use uber-alchemy-pumping and a heavily enchanted Daedric battleaxe. Of course, there is the 'push-into-lava' technique, although I don't think I've used that. Haven't played Arena, but as I understand the questline, you can't defeat Tharn without the Staff of Chaos. Hircine's aspects each have strengths and weaknesses.

Sypron
I would like the idea of zelda type creatures and bosses, it really hightens your awareness. Insted of running around stabbing everything you actually have to think. It would make a good mod.

Pushing in the lava won't really work, he regenerates health faster than the lava damages it. The solution: The heart. After a few hits on the heart Dagoth Ur will no longer rapidly regenerate around 1000 health a second, and you can kill him (at this point pushing him in the lava will eventually kill him ;)). Or you hit the heart once more and he just disappears. Not really much of it in morrowind. Would be nice to put in a mod... Who knows, if my next mod has a boss... nintendocrazed
Well, there really are no "unique" bosses in Oblivion. The only boss in Oblivion that really LOOKED different physically was, obviously, SPOILERS the last boss. But you don't even fight him, you watch him get killed. Merunes Dagon was his name? Something like that. But every boss battle I've ever fought in that game has involved pummeling the crud out of it with whatever my best attacking skill was (magicka, bows, blades, etc.), and use potions when I was about to die. Trambamboline
It's true that there areb't very many unique bosses in oblivion, which is a shame. I think they made it like that so that when one does come around, you're surprised. But there are some mods out there that add some good bosses. I remeber one called "The Hydra's Lair" or something. The guy who made it made about three dungeons with badass bosses at the end, but there's no tactic to killing, so it's not like a Zelda-esk fight when you meet them. But each end boss is unique and you get something cool from them. So if you really want dungeon end bosses I suggest you check those mods out. WarKirby3333
I'll be adding some big nasty bosses to my castle arena. In fact 40% of the opposition will be big single monsters. Maybe that will somewhat sate your bloodlust. But you won't be able to fight something truly unique unless someone makes a completely new monster from scratch, with a new skeleton and everything. I'm not even sure if that's actually possible. WarKirby
Adras
Well what about the King of Worms at the end of the Mages Guild quests, and Mankar Camron (I think thats how you spell it). At the end of some of the guild quests you get to kill some unique bosses, however, I do agree that there could be more. The end of the Dark Brotherhood quest was not quite what I expected, but still neat. I havent done the main quest yet, but I know what happens. I like the idea about having separate bosses for each kind of environment though.
