FNV Crashing on startup

Recommended Posts

I've never made a post on here so tell me if I've f***ed up in any way

A few weeks back, I was having some issues with high CPU usage on certain programs which I managed to fix. Playing games for long periods of time would just hard reset my computer, this happened with New Vegas, but when I tried to reopen the game, it would crash on startup, even after reinstalling and opening the game with no mods activated. I tried using NVEdit but it didnt detect any problems and I was hoping you guys could help :3

I'll attach a pic of my mods I guess, I don't have that many...

NVWillow.esp is loading before MikotoBeauty.esm... ESMs before ESPs, just like bros before ho#s. :teehee:

Also, check your ESM dependencies. You might be missing some Esms... number 1 cause of CTD errors right there.

Willow may be an ESP but it is flagged as an ESM, so it's fine where it is, same goes for PN Rebalance. Besides, FOMM--and I'm pretty sure NMM does this too--will autocorrect any ESMs loading after ESPs.

If FNVEdit doesn't report anything, it's not an load order issue. Another likely mod-related issue is a bad UI mod installation. You can fix that by reinstalling any UI mods. While you're on that, get rid of Primary Needs HUD as it is no longer supported and install One HUD instead. Afterwards, use UIO to get the UI mods to play nice together.

Last thing, if you're using Raptr which I've been told gets installed with AMD drivers, then there's lots of reports of it messing up the game. Solution is to exit or uninstall the program.

Hum... what mod is causing the ESP dependency so that it operates as an ESM? I ask because... its an unrelated issue to a problem that should also not exist. That having been said, what version of script extender are you using? I ask because... this could also be causing your CTD.

Setting the ESM flag on a companion is pretty much standard, if you don't the head and body textures won't match, it also fixes navmesh errors. For clarity maybe authors should change the extension but the game doesn't care what it it is, it's looking for that flag.

It depends... are the trees fruit trees or some other variant of female foliage, or are they Diclinous? Assuming the trees bear fruit... I think it can be argued yes... since the man is still surrounded by the opposite gender.
