TheRomans
Dragonborne could refer to the nord gods...Ysmir I think is a dragon...so maybe its an avatar or something of Ysmir?Ysmir is Talos/Tiber Septim
Jagermh
im thinking martin slept around a bit before becoming a priest ;) It makes sense. Remember his quote on the Sanguine Rose? He claims he was once a follower of Sanguine's. And knowing that Sanguine is the prince of debauchery and revelry... like father like son

Valdaglerion
I believe that there very well could have been another Septim child. The only people who knew about Martin were Uriel & Jauffre. Who is to say that there wasn't another?
RavveN
Maybe Uriel Septim will come back from the dead...As some bad guy...And you will be like some farmer who will be like a hero and kill him :P
dodger805
Maybe the Dragonborn is not just for the Septim's rein, but for the emperors in general. It would make sense if you became the new emperor after oblivion, if the character in Skyrim is the same as oblivion's. you could not be the character from oblivion as it says it was 200 years ago even if you are an elf of some sort it would be boring becuase then everybody would know who you are and to the drsgonborn question I think it is said that the septims weren't the only ones who were dragonborn. As they explain it in GI there used to be dragon hunters and you are the last one of those even if you don't know of it... yet.
Fatalmasterpiece
A Dragonborne is possibly anyone of the line who hunts and kills dragons, and or protects the world from them, such as the Blades perhaps. As the main character is trained by a Blade in Skyrim, it's possible you are the last Blade, ala return of the Jedi and thus the dragons fear you. iSev
If we're the Dragonborn, I hope we can talk in this one. And, like, hear ourselves. :oI always felt really uncomfortable when Martin made a speech and I just kinda stood there in the background.
Dianadoesitbest
You guys are implying that no one with the septim bloodline at any point, could have had a roll in the hay in 800 Years? That seems silly. Also Lore explains a lot http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Skyrim Edited January 21, 2011 by Dianadoesitbest
