Sypron
I'm having a bit of a problem with the oblivion music. I'll make a long story short and say i deleted all the files, now i need your help getting them back. I downloaded the music in a way that could be deemed illegal, i don't think so, i did buy the game anyhow. But heres the problem, the music i downloaded has real names, unlike the oblivion originals such as "dungeon3" and "explore7" Can someone, if its possible, tell me which of the songs (eg:king and country, glory of cyrodiil) go to which folders (dungeon battle explore and public). Much appriciated.
cactoblasta
Why don't you just reinstall the game? It'll put the music files back into the right folders for you. It may even be quicker than waiting for a full list and then methodically renaming the songs.
Sypron
Well, thats where the other problem comes in. I can't reinstall the game because i can't uninstall the game. Belive me, i've explored all other methods of music revival and this is the easiest. And you don't need to reanme the songs, you just have to put them into the right place. Povuholo
If uninstalling doesn't work, you can always delete the entire oblivion folder and install again...
cryocry
Did you empty your recycle bin? Just dig around in there, it'll show up, unless you emptied your recycle bin.
Abramul
Even if they were deleted, unless he defragged, the files might still be there. Don't know of any recovery tools myself, but I'm sure they exist. That said, with the music files that [a friend who also has Oblivion copied to a CD for you], the file sizes and durations are as follows:\Battlebattle_01.mp3 3004 KB 2:08battle_02.mp3 1588 KB 1:06battle_03.mp3 1447 KB 1:01battle_04.mp3 1777 KB 1:15battle_05.mp3 1745 KB 1:14battle_06.mp3 1900 KB 1:21battle_07.mp3 1629 KB 1:09battle_08.mp3 1603 KB 1:08 \DungeonDungeon_01_v2.mp3 This may be an altered version... 2396 KB 1:42dungeon_02.mp3 3563 KB 2:32dungeon_03.mp3 1518 KB 1:04dungeon_04.mp3 1656 KB 1:10dungeon_05.mp3 1542 KB 1:05 \Exploreatmosphere_01.mp3 3479 KB 2:28atmosphere_03.mp3 6079 KB 4:19atmosphere_04.mp3 6599 KB 4:41atmosphere_06.mp3 4342 KB 3:05atmosphere_07.mp3 4923 KB 3:30atmosphere_08.mp3 5733 KB 4:04atmosphere_09.mp3 5885 KB 4:11 \Publictown_01.mp3 4019 KB 2:51town_02.mp3 3411 KB 2:25town_03.mp3 4136 KB 2:56town_04.mp3 2934 KB 2:05town_05.mp3 3065 KB 2:10 \Specialdeath.mp3 317 KB 0:13death_.mp3 317 KB 0:13success.mp3 415 KB 0:17tes4title.mp3 2601 KB 1:50 There may be a few typographical errors. Sypron
Thanks very much for this, i'll try my hardest to match those files, but on the soundtrack the lengths can vary samll amounts of time, plus they are all bigger files (better quallity it would seem) but thank you, i'll get on it right away. tmx
personally i got bored with most of oblivion music, except some of the atmosphere ones, not as inspiring as morrowind, so i replace them with my own songs.
