DeathWarrior
What is your opinion/view of game lore. That is, are you the type of person who: 1. Strictly defends it and abides by it2. Ignores it completely especially when it comes to mods or 3. Follows it but modifies it slightly and makes their own interpretation of it. I find myself to be a little bit of all of these, but mostly the third one. An example of the first one is how I view many of the low-cut armor mods and "Mystic Elf" characters to break game lore, and thus avoid even viewing such files. An example of the second one is the fact that I have replaced most of the guns in Fallout 3 with real guns, even the energy weapons (the laser rifle is replaced with an M4A1), for no specific reason. And finally an example of the third one is the fact that my Oblivion character is wielding Frostmourne, which I have added to my personal branch of the Elder Scrolls lore as a powerful Nedic runeblade (the Nedic people are the ancestors of Nords, who are the ancestors of the Imperials and Bretons). GetOutOfBox
I don't mind mods that don't exactly follow game lore, but I think it's pathetic when all of the "Hot Files" on tesnexus are repeatably just HGEC clothes, hentai cosmetics, etc, since I personally find bondage costumes extremely immersion breaking. I'm sure a lot of people will rage when I say that the existence of those mods just supports the "PC gamers are nerds who can't get girlfriends" stereotype. Amayakyrol
My thoughts exactly. The most download FO3, Oblivion, and Morrowind mods are nearly all distasteful and serve only to reinforce the notion that gamers are immature perverts. Some of the stuff hosted here is sickening. OP, you lose out on a lot of good mods if you just stick to lore friendly ones. As long as it doesn't completely violate the setting (ie M16s in Oblivion) I find it OK to use. ginnyfizz
No-one is forcing you to download these mods, or even look at them. The OP, for example, has stated that he avoids looking at such mods, a most wise decision.
Amayakyrol
Actually, you are forced to look at them when you dig through armour mods. Even if you have the adult filter on you still have to dig through metal bikini files. Not to mention that without fail, there will be at least one picture of questionable taste in every mod's image section.

The OP, for example, has stated that he avoids looking at such mods, a most wise decision. It's not so much that the sight of a woman in a bikini bothers me (maybe in a different way if you get my drift ;) ), it's just that all of the attention seems to go to those mods, when much better mods are ignored. Think of it like this, type tesnexus into google search and wait to see the suggested keywords. The second one is always "tesnexus sexlivion". That's pathetic. Even if the only way for you to get off is to watch an argonian boning a male orc, there are much better mods than Sexlivion out there. The fact that the most searched mod in connection with tesnexus is a mod that adds a mini game where the main goal is to basically bang women and collect the semen produced from the couplings so you can get "special products" in exchange for them, really shows what a great modding community there is for games like tesnexus. Amayakyrol
Oh, wow, that is the second one on the search... Yeah, that's pretty sad. I didn't think it could get worse but now there's a tentacle rape mod on this site. Hosting the skimpy armor mods is one thing, sadly, that's an ingrained part of fantasy. The simulated sex mods are a slap in the face to the community and Bethesda. I think the reason that Bethesda doesn't police mods is because they don't want to know what kind of warped crap is being created.
ginnyfizz
Well, I have to say that I am with you guys about finding the tentacle mods dubious. Prostitution mods, whether hinted at or depicted, I can appreciate people not wanting them in their game, but there has always been a sex trade about. Skimpy armor mods...depends how you roleplay I suppose. My girls are unlikely to be seen out in the Jerral mountains in their bikinis, for example, lol! Vindekarr
I only keep to a game's general level of technology. If it's Oblivion, I avoid lazorz, though I think they are kinda cool. Though my mods are from many a universe, they all stay within a key time period. I'm more lax with FO3, I just use whatever the hell I find fun. I also have a major soft stop for those silly mods, like the one that makes the Fat Man shoot nueclear cows.
bben46
Please keep on topic - the topic is not what you think about a certain type of mod, but on how you play in regarding lore. If it doesn't stay on topic, and polite I will shut it down, and start issuing strikes and bans.Bben46, Moderator
