There is no "Bigger Deal". All of it was blatantly obvious, in the open and known by those of us that bothered to read it. These attacks are starting to get pretty damn pathetic. There was/is no conspiracy nor big deals made that have betrayed anyone.

From my community experiences in the early 90ies until now on several forums and when usnet newsgroups support forums started remembering from the past, nothing has changed so far with the participants and their communication habbits ;-) It is still the same.
But when I read across all of this thread I'm happy that a lot of people making up their mind on this topic and thinking about the different point of views of the involved people.
Finally this proved that Nexus has a great audience and value modders and members sharing a most valuable content.

I agree with you Robin.

However I will never pay valve/steam a penny for work they did not do. I will continue to ignore steam's inferior mod list site and keep using the Nexus as my only mod resource.

 

While I support an author's right to ask for payment for their work I feel it should only be via a donation system unless that author has a proven record within the modding community of supporting and updating their work regularly.

So, ah...on an aside here...I've been going around looking at everyone I felt has had an impact on me in my time here, checking if they had a donate button, and if so...sent them a couple bucks. ... ... ...It's not much...maybe enough for a cheap beer or some shady takeout from a D-grade restaurant...but I just want them to know that we are one (very) big (very) dysfunctional family. I'd encourage anyone else that can think of a community member that they respect, or helped you with a project without demanding anything in return...do the same...and if they have donations disabled or you have no cash, give them kudos and send them a PM.
