Qamyk
Besides buying house/renting ins/taking a ride on carriages (which is cheap anyway, even with mods that increase cost of these) i can pretty much get everything for free from crafting and looting chests and corpes of fallen enemies, so what's the point of collecting coins anyway? I made a new game, 2 hours of playing and i have 2000 gold from nothing, just one dungeon.I I tried already some mods that require my character to sleep/eat etc. etc. and some other that improve the economy, but still i find plenty of gold in notime and nothing to spend it at. So......Anyway to improve the importance of money ?What do you spend your money on, in skyrim?
Noortje
Money is useful for quickly boosting your crafting skills, the money you get from selling your crafted stuff goes directly into ingredients to craft more stuff to make more money to buy more ingredients. This is how you quickly level up your skills like smithing, alchemy etc. A high level of smithing means you can upgrade your weapons and armor to high standards and craft the best gear for yourself. A high alchemy level means you can craft insanely strong poisons and potions. So yeah, money is very useful but getting rich in Skyrim is a piece of cake. Boombro
It really useful for builds I play with, they don't have any crafting skills.
vram1974
If you download the mod Loot and Degradation you'll never have too much money.
stebo104
player.setav smithing/alch/enchanting 100 (or higher if using uncapper) works wonders. Me personally, I just don't like to grind crafts in any game (done plenty of that in wow and daoc), so just set the lvl to max but still have to lvl up old school way through combat and have to spend perk points. Now if you want to play a game where money is reduced from all sources you can try that Tycoon mod that recently came out. I got about 10 hours into game and barely had 5k. PeggleFrank
Some spell mods have obscenely high prices for spells. I can't remember the name, but I remember one mod (Forgotten Magic I believe; perhaps Apocalypse?) where spells could be found as random loot... or bought from a vendor in the College of Winterhold for 2k-5k gold each. Removing the limit of how many times you can upgrade a skill per level through trainers is also a good way to sink your money. Especially once you start paying thousands of coins for each level, you'll be looking for ways to get more money rather than ways to spend it. GoodfellowGoodspring
Theres mods which introduce Hold taxes and income tax etc which are good money sinks. Downloading mods which allow you to build or rebuild homes are good money wasters as well and you see some sense of achievement afterwards.
