PC setup for Fallout 3 and New Vegas modded heavily

Recommended Posts

I want 144hzx just so no tearing at all in any circumstances. I know I wont get 60+ frames in NV with all the mods Ill have but for games like Counter strike or anything else it will be beneficial. Besides, a good monitor will last pretty long.

I want a 144hz simply because I dont want tearing while playing. I know I wont be at 60+ frames on NV with all the mods I will have, but I just want it to be as smooth as it can as to reduce reduced performance at higher frames.

Does anyone know of a monitor of about 26 to 28 inches, 1080p, 144hz, LED, and of affordable price? The 1080 is for quality, the hz is for stability and smoothness, and the size is because I want a good one screen for gaming.

You simply cannot run Skyrim at more than 60fps no matter the circumstances and expect to get away with it. Its a limitation of the ancient game engine 144hz or no 144hz. So anything more than 60 is wasting your time and money as you'll have to enable Vsync or limit fps. Screen tearing will occur if your monitor has a different frequency from the game. Cap both at 60fps and you'll have no problems whether the monitor supports 61hz or 144hz. Anything more is pointless. The game engine/cpu/gpu combination is the limitation on framerates, not the monitor.

If want you want a higher frequency for more recent games then of course thats fine.
