Steam and Bethesda remove paid modding from Skyrim Workshop

I learned one thing about this, the majority of the community here o Nexus understand the beauty about moding, understand why the modding scene should be improved. But the players majority looking on reddit and steam forums are toxic, the modders will never improve their works without high costs.

I disagree with you if you think will be a next step to the modding scene on Bethesda games.

I'm sorry but one thing sums up my point.

Change must come because paid modding is coming and those who don't adapt will go by the wayside even the Nexus..
That pretty much sums it up.

Hey that was brave! I have followed things the last few days and it has been a battle ground from every angle, and what you have just done is brave.

I do not know you or pretend to but you have fought a corner that is worth fighting because this was a scary time for our future as free gamers. I do not know all the details or what was said but we must all be able to try understand each other and communicate otherwise what sort of community are we?

In all honesty I have been pretty quite on these airwaves up until now but the last few days has made me meet some very like minded people who I have learned a lot from. I have noticed that all of our voices and contributions make a real difference. Let's stay together and make sure we stand for what we believe in the future.

Skol (Cheers)

Always the last word, sorry :/

I agree it is very hard to avoid with how the world is. That is not to say it will be the end of free modding altogether, and THAT is what we MUST fight for. Sorry again, I'm... just... getting a little emotional... here...

Peace.

"Some of you are calling end-users entitled brats for wanting something for nothing. I am calling all of you mod authors that wish to be financially compensated for your work entitled brats. When you started your project, large or small, you never envisioned being paid for you work. No matter what your motivation was, money was never one of them.

Once that possibility became a reality, suddenly you're entitled to compensation? Horseshit."

Well said.

I haven't been following this debacle, but I have seen some modders attacking users for "taking away their dream of making money off of mods" and in response will no longer be uploading free mods any more. How childish.
