Modding

I was really excited when I bought the PC version of Fallout New Vegas for my computer. I must have a slight "I'm a frickin' idiot" disorder if I actually believed my computer would run the game.I purchased the game specifically for the PC with particular intentions of both Modding myself and downloading other Mods. well, after I discovered how much the game lagged on my computer I went to a site bben suggested on a earlier topic and discovered I didn't have the right video capture required to properly run the game. and I looked at some of the recommendations of other computers designed specifically for gaming and found one at the dandy price of $1,499.00 do believe this will take just a bit to purchase. With emphasis on "just a bit." So, I would like to know how much longer Mods are going to be available to PC. Now, they probably are going to be around forever but I was reading some other discussion forum I found somewhere looking at computers and someone was saying it sucked because Mods are ending soon or something. Anyway, I just want to clarify here if the mysterious bulls#!% was true or just some retard trying to be funny. It will take me about a year to grab fifteen hundred dollars and it would be nice to know what I'm saving for is still here.

-Thanks

Modding is "ending"? Really? That is news to me.

Looks at Morrowind, Oblivion, Dragon Age, Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

They are highly moddable and will remain so for as long as there are people running these games on computers and have a desire to obtain/share mods.

So no, the mods currently available for New Vegas won't go up in smoke in a few days, months or years. You have plenty of time to get a new PC or video card.

You might want to keep a collection of mods you will want to play though. Sometimes mods are released and for personal / legal / policy reasons are removed and you just have to have "been there" to get 'em. But that is on the rare side though. Most popular mods tend to stick around a long time and on many sites.

Modders are here to stay!...mods will continue to be made for games that you can mod!

As for a computer that can handle FONV?... i got 4 pc's and 2 laptops running. the last pc i built for just over $600 runs NV no prob what so ever....even my $300 compaq laptop runs FO and FONV with just the slightest stutter, and Oblivion with no problems. If you want to play the latest and greatest games on the highest settings and all that jazz then you will most likely need a "power house" comp.

But like LHammonds says..if you see some mods you want to use/play then dl them and save them for when you get your pc. you might just need a vid card and a couple gig of ram...look into it
