Pikeman85
I recently got bloodmoon and I am just in love with it. I wanted to start a new Nord warrior/mage type (I'm thinking warrior shaman type) who will run around solstheim and just absolutely kick ass. I want to use medium armor as opposed to heavy or light, as heavy and light just aren't my character type. I don't see him running around in heavy, metal armor, or very light glass type armor. I see him in leather/chainmail type with longblades and an axe, as well as destructive and possibly alteration and restoration skills. Is medium armor a good choice? I want mobility, as well as decent protection, without having to carry THAT much, and I want to look all Nordic and scary. Any advice is appreciated :P
Marxist ßastard
Well, in the lower levels, medium armor has a few nice, interesting sets and will allow you to carry more loot. However, as you advance and need better armor, the weight won't make that much of a difference and you'll be stuck with Adamantium, Ice, and Royal Guard armor. Pikeman85
But are they really bad, or decent compared to light and heavy? And are there any medium armor mods that add some nice armor?
Pob
Medium is now not bad (in contrast to the original) and the Ebony Mail unique curiass is IMO the best curiass in the game (excepting mods). Adamanitine and such will give you reasonable overall armour
Pikeman85
Thank you :) I'm rather new to morrowind (only have been playing about 2-3 weeks so far) and I kept reading everywhere that medium armor was absolute poo and just to go light :P But if there ARE decent mediums and they offer me what I want for the character, I guess my Nord will go medium ;) Additionally, is there any point to specializing in more than one armor? i.e. like mix and match from various armor sets? wesaynothin
I have read about a plugin with medium armor called 'Durzog Armor'. It should be on the main site. And specializing in more than one armor... It depends. If you really want to 'Roleplay', than probably not. If you want to look cool, you might. Glass+Daedric looks awesome :) . Pob
I'm rather new to morrowind (only have been playing about 2-3 weeks so far) and I kept reading everywhere that medium armor was absolute poo and just to go light Used to be true in the original that medium was rubbish and heavy the best, but with each expansion they have redressed the balance and so now while medium IMO is still the worst it isn't that bad, its closed the gap on the others. Also worth it for the unique Ebony Mail which is goodAdditionally, is there any point to specializing in more than one armor? i.e. like mix and match from various armor sets? Not in terms of your major/minor skills, but do train/use all three as you may find yourself switching armour types throughout the game. I started (on my main charcater) in light(chitin), then went medium (bonemold and then bonemold/dreugh mix, then started collecting bits of heavy (Ebony and eventually Daedric). Think I even had some glass (light) at some point
Pikeman85
Well glass armor is easy for me to find (I just use almsivi intervention somewhere near Ghostgate and boom, I can steal a full set. I did something like this, without the almsivi intervention on my assassin/thiefy char) and I don't know where to find much other armor, but I want a challenge, and to look imposing while still being fairly light. ;) And what does this Durzog armor look like? Pikeman85
Nevermind, found and downloaded it :P Also what good bloodmoon mods exist that add quests/towns/people/dungeons?
Adrian Laguna
A really good medium armor is the one in the mod: Full Dragonscale Armor V1.2 by DracoDraKonis.I know you can find the cuirass in Vvanderfell without the mod but I don't know about the rest of the armor. You can find the mod here. Use the search feature and type in Full Dragnscale Armor in the titles section (upper right-hand corner) of the search page.
