Quite simply, Do you watch Zero Punctuation Game Reviews? (There is a link below for anyone who has never seen them and is curious) I do, but I probably wouldn't base my decision to avoid buying a game off of them. If there's one thing above the others that I like about these reviews, it's that Yahtzee doesn't pull any punches. Be warned, the videos often use vulgar language(and occasionally partial nudity), so if you're young (or at work) I'd recommend against watching.

Link is not recommended for the young or anyone at work

Watched them since pretty much the begining, Like yourself dont use his opnions on games. I consider it to be more a comedy show then review show and tahts what makes it excel IMO.

I like the reviews. They're always funny, but not quite serious game reviews. Unlike other reviewers, he tends to latch on to one problem a game has and talk about it for the entire review. However, though, he has a tendency to hate all games, so if he really really loves a game (Psychonauts, Saint's Row 2), you can be sure it's a good game. Just don't judge the bad games off it.

do they have an oblivion video?

Spoiler: He hates Oblivion because of the seemingly copy-paste world and lack of immersion.

figured it out

and he kinda has a point... but oblivion was still pretty good (modders are a hugenormous part of that)

That's the approach I've taken with Painkiller. I hear a coworker state that he enjoyed it a lot, and after seeing Yahtzee give it a favorable review, I bought a copy off of Ebay. I've still not got it installed because I'm replacing my computer soon, and decided to wait. But I've definately taken this approach to his reviews.
