KethusNadroev
Hi, at some point I've noticed that even if I play the same game I played years ago it would still perform worse, for example I used to play Skyrim without even needing HiAlgo Boost and now even with it the fps often drops to 5. After I downloaded some monitoring software it appears the fps drop happens when the graphics card overheats, but it overheats even if I'm playing King of Fighters! So I got a fan and even took it to the place I bought it from and the guy put some cooling gel thing saying I wont even need a fan after that but it still overheats easily. I also reinstall windows on a regular basis (when the windows updates start to take over my entire C: drive) so it's not like the system gets cluttered or anything. What in the name of...?! Open it up and pull the dust out of there its probably clogged with the stuff. Cooling gel, good grief, what nonsense will they come with next. Go to a proper PC tech who doesn't blind you with technobabble and charge you a fortune for it. Or do it yourself. Reseating a heatsink and reapplying thermal compound I can understand but "cooling gel"... *walks away muttering* Dust and/or failing fans is your problem. edit: ok, bulgarian, sorry, maybe something was lost in translation there. :ermm: Edited May 11, 2015 by soupdragon1234

And yes, I clean the dust from time to time too. Edited May 11, 2015 by KethusNadroev
jhelzei
Heat pipes on your graphics card may not be conducting heat to the fans to be dispersed. Reapplying thermal paste may not be enough - you might need new heatsink and/or heatpipe. I've got an iMac with that problem, but fortunately I can just crank up the fans to compensate. Posting the specs of your laptop might help too.

Ryuukage0101
3 common things, dust in the fan(s), old termopase, low RAM. *solutions*cooling board?Drill smal holes in the bottom of your laptop? ( if you can remove the bottom cover that is).http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/diy-laptop-cooler-with-awesome-temperature-readings-tutorial.105367/I made one for less then 30 dollar. ( one thing to keep in mind, fans in a computer can take up to 10V , usb just give out 4.5V - 5V so boards that is connected via usb doenst run on maximum effect ).An adapter is needed.
