my understanding is thatreload was pulled because someone didnt get credit for some gun textures. at least thats my understanding i could be mistaken. dont want to step on any toes here. there was a post on it but i cant find that either. last i read the mod was going to be back up with 3 gun replacements (new textures). i had some corrupted saves so i decided to delete everything, then when i went to redownload reload it was gone. so im waiting.

If a mod goes missing then it's probably just part-and-parcel of the running of the site. You only need to start worrying If mod authors start complaining that their files are gone without them deleting them and without the staff owning up to removing them.

If a modder simply stops modding, they are unlikely to remove their stuff. So, the only likely explanation is that somebody complained about not getting credit, and the mods removed it, but there was no reason for a public announcement. Is there any *other* reason why a mod may go missing?

there is a need for an announcement, because its not known if this mod is coming back or not. if it was known then this thread wouldn't be here. when a mod like reload simply disappears then people have to find alternatives that are not always there. letting people know whats going on will also give modders a better idea on what mods they can develop off of, or to. or if its not coming back maybe someone will start a replacement for it. lack of info slows everything down and causes rumors, and stories. keep it open, and keep it honest. what more could anyone ask for.

Many forums have a rule that one cannot reply in public to a moderator action. I guess this type of rule makes it impossible for a modder to announce that the moderators have removed his mod. The moderators themselves may not want to advertise it. But still, the result is it *looks* like the internet has somehow eaten the mod. I agree something is needed to avoid this confusion.

Is there a place where this type of moderator action is announced? Like the thread where people who get banned is announced? It is an action which has the same effect.
