okay so modding

I've spent a couple of hours this morning researching and playing around with blender, but it's no good

every video tutorial is like watching a friend make something and your sitting in the background whistling to your favourite track, there no help whatsoever, no guidelines, just watch and hope for the best!

As for the written tutorials, well to be quite honest I couldn't be less interested in a written story of the background of blender "it was made here" "it was made by" I really don't care.

Lots of people have different ways of learning things and reading through loads of web pages isn't for me, it's like revising!

I never revised in school because it did nothing for me, I can only learn if I am taught!

So i'm begging, I really want to learn to mod because I have so many big ideas (just how to make weapons and clothes for now) if there is anyone willing to do a private chat with me and help me, please do, I shall be very grateful. Or even to be taught the basics, setting up blender to make a weapon and then I could go on from there with a few bits of information.

thank you :)

Well, I'm quite sorry. Most tutorials are in the written word. Very few are in video form and as you know, they are not all created equal. Even then, there simply is not a "set" of videos that will step you through the entire modding process (that I know about). Mainly just bits and pieces...usually the problematic parts.

We also have a Blender forum here. I'd recommend reviewing the "read me 1st" pinned topic.

I have a couple of videos here but it certainly does not cover everything needed for modeling. Usually, the "noob-to-pro" (text) tutorial is a prerequisite to other tutorials since it is impossible to create an advanced tutorial and explain every single step as if you are talking to somebody that has never used the tutorial....and if you did, not many people would care to sit through it because most people wanting an advanced topic already know the basics.

Unfortunately as much as most of us hate it, the best thing is to learn the basics of the program first before you try to dive in and make a full piece of armor. Like LHammonds said the noob to pro tutorial is where you should start. This will teach you the basics of navigating to program as well as simple perimitives and modeling techniques.
