Are there any details on 1st person mode, i.e. will skyrim look like dark messiah:might and magic, or oblivion style with head bobbing mods?

Won't be a game breaker but a body does add to the rush, like when you see your limbs flailing as you get thrown through the air by a troll...

Theres no body .. I agree it would help make the game feel more real but its also a new thing to animate and it rarely shows up... and no they can't use third person animations in first person mode .. clipping would be a major issue

You can use 3rd person animations in 1st, there are some requirements for that to work obviously.

Technically the body is there, What they have done in the past is disable rendering of any node not named Hand or Arm, and I am pretty sure they disabled any object attached to the Hair and Helmet biped slots to avoid clipping with the camera, It would be entirely possible to add feet and legs. It kinda works alright, you just have to disable the pauldrons, because the do clip nasty, I went through loads of animations doing it back in the day. It's not the most elegant solution. and the camera isn't really setup to take good advantage of looking down at a body.

Question: why on earth is horseback riding in 3rd person only?

If they could do 1st person in Oblivion, why not Skyrim? Heck, they did it in DAGGERFALL.

Okay nevermind that is an explore track, damn, I was hoping that minor towns use the town folder this time.I need to wait until I watch all the videos before I start discussing it, I think.

Replying to this again, as it's appropriate. :P

I've been going through the vids again, and it seems in-game music is actually off, and instead, they're using music layered over the edited video. Look at fades between clips and areas. Same music continues even when fading to different sections. If they were using in-game music system, then it would actually change to different positions of the piece from when the player was actually at a point in the video to where they were after the fade transition. Which means the combat stuff is actually edited in as well, and you can even tell that from when the video transitions to different areas, and it's still the same combat track playing right on through. While the music is awesome, I would have preferred them to use the actual in game music system.

I just noticed this myself, so there's no way to tell how the music player works?Ah well, Pete mentioned hours of music on Twitter once, hopefully he's not just exaggerating.

Well, knowing how Jeremy Soule and most actual composers(including myself) work, if there isn't hours of music in the game, then there's hours of music that he's made that will never be released. :P

It's a composer/music-maker thing. xD

There might be more Skyrim stuff.

"GameStop and SPIKE TV present an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at exclusive content and information from four of the hottest fall blockbuster video games.

Airs: September 15 @ 12a/11p CST - SPIKE TV

September 16 @ 12a/11p CST - GameTrailers.com"

So hopefully we will get to see Skyrim stuff from there. All I know is that Batman AC is in that. Which leaves 3 others.

Riding a horse in first person was strange in Oblivion because the saddle was empty... They wanted to increase immersion in Skyrim so I guess that's why they left it out :(

I can't wait to see what the modding community does with this game, hopefully there will be another Immersive 1st person mod.
