well, i was joining YouTube, but getting desperate for a name, so i just resorted to using the name of a flash animation on eBaum's World, it's original, so i use it on all websites, except YouTube, I forgot my password

poop goblin

Quite the choice for a user name, and it baffles the bejesus out of me  . My user name OTOH is quite simple. My first name is Robert, and my last name is Black, so you fill in the blanks. But maybe now I should have named myself after my idol, that lovable red furry monster, who also has his own tv show!

Vaanic - Taken from the finnish word Vaan, meaning either "Just" or "But", depending on the context. Used in the finnish term "ei vaan osaa", meaning something along the lines of "They just don't know" (It is used to describe "nyyppä", which is finnish for "noob"). Hence, "Vaanic" comes close to saying "Of just [roughly tranferable to "Only"]" and therefore makes no sense, but could come close to meaning something like "Is only". Despite this heavy (and crap) use of the finnish langauge, The user "Vaanic" was born and lives in Somerset, England.

Well, I always pick usernames that are the same as my password, so I can remember them easier. "Marxist male without a father" seemed like it would be a hard password to guess, so I threw in a German double-s for added security and went with it.

This post ended two lines ago. It's usually considered good form to stop reading a post after it's ended.

I mean it. Seriously, stop. A recent Harvard study suggests that reading something that doesn't exist may damage your eyesight.

Okay, you forced it out of me. I have the peculiar and inexplicable habit of constantly changing my screen name in online FPS games. Sometimes it's gently mocking someone else's name; otherwise, my name is just something that occurred to me as humorous and piqued my interest. Back in the heyday of HLDM and TFC, I not only kept a record of my names but also queued up a name or two in advance --- in case one didn't quite pan out and I got bored quickly. The names I put up in advance often had maybe five seconds of thought behind them. One of these names happened to be "Marxist ßastard." As I remember, it didn't really strike me as all that funny and I used it maybe once, or else I just skipped over it altogether.

Flash forward a month or two, and I'm playing around with some random TFC bot. I started a private server and activated the automata. Since I had become so used to banning the all-too-common servers that were filled up to one less than the player limit with bots, the standard bot names didn't just appear uninspiring to me --- they were downright disgusting. Since I couldn't be arsed to open up the bot name file and bash my head against the keyboard for a few lines, I looked for the old name list and fed that to the bot instead. I spawn demo. Marxist ßastard spawns sniper. As soon as I walk out into the open, I get my ass handed to me on a silver platter.

What can I say? The name grew on me.

Oh, you mean this Battousai? :P Don't know if the word means anything, but as soon as I saw your username I came to think of this Anime.

Jonlissla means roughly "little Jon" (No, not Robin Hood, and Jon is a name in swedish, if you didn't know), and where I come from, you used to add "lissla" to the end of the name of the youngest person in the family. Too bad most people who knows about that tradition are dead. :(

So when I tried to figure out a good username, I came to think it. Simple as that.

Oh, and for all you swedes out there, Dalarna rocks! :D

Mine is Brythonic Gaelic for "He who hurls an angry cat at his foes". At the Battle of Arderydd in AD 575, King Rhydderch Hael of Dun Breatann made use of an old Roman carroballista to launch his pet cat Tinkles into the line, who dashed and harrassed the enemy with great abandon accorded to his frolicky nature.

That, or he was Merlin's brother-in-law in Arthurian legend. I forget which is the actual case.

You sure you aren't thinking of Riderch I of Alt Clut?

What Wikipedia fails to mention is the same's presence in Arthurian legend, where he is the husband of Ganeida (Gwyndydd), Merlin's twin sister.

At Arderydd, one side was led by Guenddolau (like Rhydderch, another contributor to the Thirteen Treasures), the other by Rhydderch. Guenddolau was Merlin's patron and friend, while Ganieda was Rhydderch's wife. That is what you call sibling rivalry.
