... Thanks Thandal but that is just stating the obvious, I know what the premium.php is...

Sorry, from your post it seemed like you were asking why you were getting the .php INSTEAD of the specific file. You'd be surprised how many people don't understand what's happening when they click a "download" link on the Files tab.

It's okay, I guess I should have been a bit clearer, what I want to know is how to get the download manager working correctly....

Maybe I should just start a new topic for that?!

Just one question though, does anyone have any idea if the download manager I'm using (Flashget) is even supported?

No idea if Flashget, specifically, is supported. But this from the "About Premium Membership" page indicates that it probably is:

=============================

Download manager/accelerator support

Download from the premium member file server using download managers and accelerators

with full download pausing/resuming and multi-threading/tasking capabilities for top speeds.

=============================

On the other hand, Dark0ne just posted in the Network News and Announcements forum that the Denver Premium D/L Server was misbehaving and had lost its ability to sync with the rest of the "family", so many (most?) files were having to be transferred TO that server before being available to the user. He was working on it and hoped to have it sorted "soon".

Download managers do work but your manager MUST work with login cookies. I know for a fact that FlashGet does not support cookies at this time, although the old versions did. No idea why they removed support for them.

Generally speaking the best download managers are the ones that integrate with browsers as addons or extensions; such as DTA! for FireFox and FlashGot. I know DTA works, and I believe FlashGot does too.

Ok, thanks for the info, I guess I'll have to try some other download managers or go back to an older version of flashget, just wish I knew which was the last to support cookies, I currently use version 3, I also have 2 and 1.96 setups files.

OK, no version of flashget seems to work but I did find something that works for me with Internet Explorer, Download Accelerator Plus, don't really like the program for itself as it is Overloaded with ads but it's doing its job and I can choose if I want to use it or the built in internet explorer downlod when I click links so it's acceptable.

This is the one that I used to use, worked quite well and was very user friendly.

It will integrate into IE and works well, I used it for years on dial up and before I switched to firefox.

I used to use it as well. Even got the premium version, which got rid of the ads completely. :thumbsup: (Kinda' like... here!)

And in dial-up days it was worth it for the extra connections!

I might check it out as well, so far DAP is quite good, it's just the ads that annoy me but I don't want to pay for the premium version.

Anyway, thanks for the tip.

Ads with DAP?! I use the free version of DAP and do not have an issue with ads. I was actually going to suggest using it until I re-read the previous post. The only issue I have with downloads is the one I already mentioned and it appears from Buddha's post they are working on it. Maybe you just have a different version of something. I found it on several sites. Unfortunately I do not remember the exact one on which I found the version I use.
