Mod Request - NO level restriction in weapons, armors and smiths

Recommended Posts

This is one thing that REALLY pisses me off in RPG's .. wtf is level 19 that i have to get to in order to wear this shirt or to carry this sword .. if i have it i should be able to damn use the damn thing

The level restriction is for smiths .. yeah i just want this to cheat .. im too bored to search around for the highest ranking smith (in which case i can't damn now WHO or WHERE is the one that has the highest lvl) so this would be an excellent addition

Level locking gear in an open world cRPG is the same as putting an invisible wall to restrict movement. I could understand if a certain piece of equipment required some special kind of training, like a Power Armor in Fallout 3 and New Vegas but almost 100 years old witcher unable to use a normal sword or wear a piece of light armor because.....what? Just ridiculous, this is not Diablo or WoW. So yes, pretty please, make a mod that will make all items usable from level 1.

I think this is really needed in an openworld RPG like this, but to not break the game with god weapon, crafting and weapon value and cost should be more expensive (in gold or crafting items).

To be honest I would prefer a mod that smoothed out the drastic stat increases as you level in the game before implementing something like this, but I fear that may be a while away yet. at the moment I'm more annoyed that some bears are 3 times as powerful as others...

Would it be possible to make all weapons/armor dropped or put into the inventory match your level? That way no level 30 diagrams when im level 6 and no god weapons breaking the game.

The problem is you can find some of those high level diagrams at level 3-6. And they are not random loot.

I will definitely bump this mod request, and to the naysayers howling about finding high level diagrams, you also have to find the materials for those diagrams which aren't that easy to come by at those levels, on the hardest difficulty at least.

I've always had a disdain of level reqs because of the aforementioned invisible wall metaphor. If I do the work to get the best items, I should be able to use the best items!

I could really use an edge against monsters i'm "not supposed to kill at my level" being a huge badass veteran witcher and having slain the same monsters before.

Geralt doesn't feel like the Geralt i had at the end of the previous titles.

The witcher series -- while providing some imported decisions from previous games -- have always been lacking in regards of actually importing Geralt's experience and acquired equipment. I think a mod like this would mitigate the import stats & equipment loss a little.

The balancing in Wild Hunt is all over the place on the hardest difficulty.

They could have made it hard but fun, now it's more like "It follows the linear quest path or it gets stonewalled"

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love to get killed by i.e a high level griffin, but i want to be able to kill it back if i can dodge its attacks and get my Witcher mojos on. I love a difficult challenge, I hate impossible to defeat enemies.

TL:DR I thought I was a badass witcher but now i'm back to level 1? Puhleeze. Removing the lvl req. on items would give an edge against artificial stonewalling enemies on the hardest difficulty.

P.S. Did geralt just forgot how to parry arrows or was Assassins of Kings so short he didn't *really* register even learning it? Fuggen... let me import my character as the character it was at the end of the prev game! it doesn't break the game for new players because they haven't played through the other ones have they? Why can't old players have an NG+1 experience instead of having to grind through the mud again?

This really pisses me off. Not only do I find gear that's beyond my lvl but I have been crafting gear beyond my level since the first smith! I only recently was able to don the gloves I had made 8 levels ago and still have four more levels to make before donning the armor I made at the same time. Now I've just gotten to Novigrad and forged about six different swords, three silver swords and three steel swords, EACH AT A LEVEL WAY BEYOND where I am now. One sword sells for over 250 coin. I've always played games like Skyrim and DragonAge and the previous Witcher with an eye for crafting and equiping the best possible gear to accomplish the most difficult missions. The idea that he's carrying around dozens of pieces of equipment that he can't use is ridiculous at best and a controller-smashing-pain-in-the-ass at worst.

Also, why the hell is the beastiary empty? I understand that you want us to explore and read documents to gain insight for killing monsters, but the character is supposed to be a world class monster slayer, already playing through two different games "learning" as well. Why is he a dummy to start with? Shouldn't he already know how to make bombs and potions and have at least some knowledge on EVERY SINGLE monster in the game. I'd love to just know what something is when it appears because I did the reading through an exhaustive Beastiary! The game is designed, with intent, for the gamer to "prep" for battles by appling oils and choosing bombs and magic signs for that enemy but doesn't let you apply oil after being engaged from an unknown enemy. You have to run away, disengage, then go back after prepping. Shadow of Mordor had a much better fighting system, Geralt feels slow and weak, unable to break from attacks or even dodge with user ability but is instead forced into a pedantic fighting rhythm which forces a reliance on aforementioned gear. In short, this might be an "open world" but the ability to play outside the given quest in your ability range effectively curtains the luxury of having an open world map. The strict appliance of dress code forces the player to stay inside of a small box of available quests. This is pseudo-open world, open play at its most convincing.

All armors and weapons should be completely static. It is YOU who should increase it's effectiveness. The higher level you are, the better you should swing the sword, or the better you should understand how to move in armor. I understand the need for the smiths, that actually makes sense. But to have two identical pieces of equipment, of the exact same "quality", have different requirements and have differt degrees of functionality, that's just infantile mmorpg nonsense.
