haha thanks, no luck I'm afraid on that front.

Sorry to hear that.

However I have been making progress with my mods. I have a lovely lady, all suited up with a texture pack. But while looking for mods, I noticed a lot of pretty faces. What's the best one to download and will it interfear with my Girls Next Door model and Body Texture (F-INevOblivion)?

I am not sure what you mean by "pretty faces"?

New textures for faces. I was under the impressions that the body textures only covered neckdown and not changed your acual face. (It's not all that important anyhow. I acually got a few more things to work. However it took a full re-install to fix my previous mistakes.

Currently I'm struggling with the Vilja mod again. Here's my problem:

After extracting the .rar I got several files.

*3 text files (readme, dialog manual and Vilja important notes) As far as I know, you don't have to put these in any folder to get the mod to work.

*1em_Vilja a ESP file

*A folder named "omod conversion data"

*Another 1em_Vilja this time with the OBMM logo, if I click it, it gives me the option to Extract All to <Folder Name>

(http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/3147/oblivmodvilja.png) (Visual Supplement)

Edit: http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/4701/oblivmodvilja2.png

Now if I'm to believe the Readme, I have to dump all of the above in my Oblivion/Data/Library.

However I would much prefer it to have it installed via OBMM. Any suggestions?

Phew! That's a whole wall of text! I hope the mod is worth it. Anyways, you have my thanks man. Couldn't have gotten this far without your help.

Oblivion/Data/Library?

All .esp/.esm/.bsa files should go to: Oblivion\Data.

All textures will go under \Oblivion\Data\Textures.

All meshes will go under \Oblivion\Data\Meshes. Same as the rest.

- If the mod is packed with correct directory structure(with no \data), just extract it to Oblivion\Data with keeping directory structure. Then all files will be placed to the right location.

I have already explained to you how to install the Vilja mod, but since you have the archive with OMOD conversion data, just fire up OBMM and click on 'Create'. Point the wizard to the downloaded archive and when it asks to import OMOD data, just say yes. Then you have an OMOD ready for double click easyness.

Another day another try.

Right, the companion mod now works! Thanks you two.

But now I ran into some new problems.

First of all:

I would like to give Vilja a diffrent hairstyle so I downloaded the Rens Hair Styles for Vilja and copied Hairstyle 11.esp to my data folder. However this didn't seem to do anything. I have the Rens Beauty Mod (Got full mod and Hairs only maybe that's causing it)

I'm sorry for the constant stream of questions, but like I said. I know close to nothing about computers and really couldn't do this without your help.

It's not enough to just copy the hairstyle 11.esp to your data folder, you have to anable it too. Also, do not use Ren full and hair only -- one or the other. You probably need to choose the hair in the race menu, too, so do it at the start of your game to save losing stats.

Right!

Didn't know about the whole Data File you get when you booted up the game. Things go a lot smoother now. A lot of crashes, but using quick safe enough will make that berable.

I came across this fantastic camping mod that allows you to put down tents and campfires and such. Brilliant!

Remember, all mods that have an .esp must go in your Oblivion\Data\ folder. But the most important thing to remember is to read the installation directions carefully -- Vilja mod is an example of bad installation instructions, and the esp and bsa files should go in your \Data\ folder.

I beg your pardon??

Instruction from Vilja readme: "Just drop the content into your Oblivion-data-library. "

That's exactly how it works, and it's also exactly what you say. Why are you considering your description adequate and ours, which is exactly the same, an example of "bad installation instructions"?

If you go to the optional files for Vilja, you will find a package with the Rein hairs, set up with the Vilja customization package, ready to use without any work at all. Screenshots are also available for each hairstyle in the screenshots section.

For purely that reason. To anybody who is not experienced in Oblivion and mods, your instructions look like you are telling people to drop the contents of the archive into:

\Oblivion\Data\Library\

Your words are not the same as mine, I'm afraid.

Even, as the readme suggests, people drop the esp and bsa into Oblivion-data-library, it is still very badly worded, and WILL result in unknowledgable people installing incorrectly. Further, it is bad practice to package a mod in a folder 1em_Vilja_2_0, in Vilja's case, and not tell people to extract this to a temporary location first -- many people will automatically extract the archive to the Data folder, and again get a bad install. Vilja is not alone in this, so please don't think I am singling your mod out, simply this thread is about your mod.
