Agree completely, its not like people dont have the choice to choose what they want

People complain about everything, gives them the feeling of doing something usefull i guess...and im complaining about them complaining.

I did not read everybody's comments, but went straight to what I wanted to say. All the anime looking and bendy eared elves in screen shots that will happen, I see them as an insult to the people that worked hard to make the game what it is. If people want to play FF or whatever, go do it, leave the game looking mostly like it was designed.

If you go by that logic, modding in general is an insult.

Major difference between Oblivion physics and the super hero qualities of other games or anime. Moving so fast you appear to teleport, jumping hundreds of yards into the air and appearing to fly, being thrown through boulders and buildings, and swinging hunks of steel around the weight of an engine block is a big leap from popping Skooma, taking 10 arrows like a champ and running away with a couple dozen books on you.

Maybe big leap. But it's all down to personal tastes. Once you cross the limits of real world physics and allow magic, levitation, jumping from one roof to another across the street as if you were on the Moon (I did that often in Morrowind), any argument about realism is moot. Jumping hundreds of yards into the air or swinging a 3-yard long zweihander is as impossible as deflecting the blows of a huge dragon with a shield and a short-sword... at least with the big bad sword you have the illusion that you are more or less a match for the dragon - unlike with the super-realistic short-sword that looks like a toothpick compared to the beast.

Fair enough we are really just two sides of the same spectrum and I guess.

They look absurd in comparison to Elder Scrolls which may have fantastical races but with the exception of magic follows the basic laws of physics not to mention they just don't feel the part in the Elder Scrolls games. What if instead of giant swords, boomerangs, and bows they used lightsabers and assault rifles in Inuyasha? You would say it looks absurd and doesn't feel the part and I would say,"Oh but assault rifles are realistic and who cares about lightsabers in a manga series with demons and time travel". See where I am going with this?

To be fair, it's a lot easier to figure out how to make a giant sword than it is to figure out how to make an assault rifle or lightsaber. There's no technological gap.

True, but the point was some things while just fine within there select genre look silly elsewhere.

I agree with you for the most part but it doesn't bother me in moderation. The reason I am so oppose to all the anime and hentai style mods is because it is all the nexus has turned into. It would not be a stretch of the imagination at all to assume 9 out 10 mods that make the top100, top25 per week, 5 hot files, or file of the month are some female only race with more make up than a hooker, some form of revealing womens clothing, pornographic poses or animations, or some weapon or article of clothing from a Japanese or Korean franchise. I was cool with it years ago but it like a disease now and I fear Skyrim will become an Asian dating simulator in a matter of weeks because of it.

Well you are right in generall that most of the mods are only about those things and there are only a few who dont follow the stream and do something different, but then again noone is forcing you to install and play them...live and let live i say.

This thread is just too subjective, being concerned about that hentai mods and other similiar ones are an insult to the game seems to me like an excuse to force ones view of things upon others.

The problem is that when sexuality is involved suddenly everyone is playng the morale police about what is good and bad, even though the game has violence/killing wich ofcourse are as always fine.

No offense to anyone but this just reminds me of those obedient sheeps that were raised on the society system to respond exactly this way, becouse when the society says this and this is bad its easier to nod and point.

Nothing can insult you unless you want to be insulted to have a reason to talk about whats right and wrong...its all in ones mind.

It's not that I care those mods exist. The problem that it is all there is on the Nexus now. You are right I don't have to download them but they completely overwhelm anything else. If the Nexus was like it was years ago with a variety of content it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if someone made a dress here and a pose mod there but now its Elder Scrolls 4 Dress Up edition and the rest of us are left out to dry. People want that kind of content fine by me I am not trying to police their harddrive but what happened to the days of Deadly Reflexes, Qarls Texture Pack, Heart of the Dead, or The Lost Spires now it is taboo if you don't have HGEC and BBB in your mod title.

Yes i completely feel the same way, but we cant do nothing about it, it will be the same with skyrim becouse thats what the majority of people are interested in...im not hiding that i love anime style mods, though i feel there is lack of really original mods...or mods with interesting features...and looking upon the mods till today most of them are nearly always the same...not enough diversity...buut then again thats what makes the really original mods shine :)

Not at all. I guess you did not understand "leave the game looking mostly like it was designed."

I have released a few mods that were very vanilla Oblivion in appearance (and gotten over 3k downloads), helped other people with mod work, given them suggestions, and beta tested a number of mods.

I voiced my opinion and this is as far as I'm going with it.
