Blaydestorm
I have played Skyrim for a few hundred hours through half a dozen characters, male and female. I use Mod Organizer, Loot, Wrye Bash etc. I am running 150 mods. I have always had trouble with certain areas that cause CTDs. Examples, Halted Stream Camp (sometimes), Holly's Farm, Traitor's Post (by Windhelm), bridge from Kolsegger Mine towards Karthwasten, Broken Helm fort, Blind Cliff Caves, etc. I have removed and reinstalled the mods for testing at least five times. I use STEP to create the core build and go from there. So here's the odd thing. After turning off Male Body mesh mods, Dawnguard and many others (based on reading various forums about CTDs), I finally ran across a comment about Immersive Armors possibly being a problem (which I have always had as part of my game because it adds so much flavor and variety). So I deleted this mod and started a new game (with the other 150 mods active). CTDs are GONE! Not one single crash after having taken two different characters to L30 and hitting every one of those trouble spots. I can't say exactly what is going on here, just that my Skyrim is now rock solid without a single CTD or any related issues.Immersive Armors must be interacting with something, but I'm at a loss to understand. I miss this mod a lot but playing issue free for the first is such a joy. Would love to hear any ideas. Mainly just wanted to share this if others are having the same problem I have had. Thanks. saurusmaximus
Hmm, never heard that one, but I may have to try it out. It will really piss me off if that's the case though, I love that mod.
postal001
Did you setup SKSE and enboost properly? Considering Immersive Armors has over 150k endorsements and 5million+ downloads, I doubt that mod's the sole reason for your crashing.
MotoSxorpio
Depending on Blaydestorm's hardware specs...could be the meshes + Eckkstra (HD content) over doing it for them. Immersive Armors are not single mesh items; each mesh holds several bits from other meshes, each pointing to a separate texture. Slow hdd, low end cpu...these affect performance expectations...especially when several NPCs are donning outfits with such meshes on top of HD body mod...all in a single cell load. Postal001 has some excellent suggestions, SKSE heap block tweak (or SSME!) can help with overburdened loads; ENBBoost separates some data from RAM, easing the burden there...(Windows can actually try to pagefile RAM from the game to disc in the middle of play!!) You could also be having an issue with leveled lists, since IA adds/replaces armors throughout the entire Skyrim realm. Be sure you are using a leveled list patcher (wrye Bash), you can even check for circle leveled lists with TES5edit (load everything, right click on Hothtrooper esp, select check for circ leveled lists) Posting load order and mod list could also help, along with any other "mods" that aren't actually mods, like SweetFX/REshade/ENB/HialgoBoost/FXAA Injector and so on...could just be two mods having similar edits to leveled lists. Anyway, good luck! :)

Mainly just wanted to share this if others are having the same problem I have had. Thanks.I can report much the same happening on my end; tried to proceed with several playthroughs until I hit a wall at levels ~14-20 when the game would always CTD in certain areas, mostly east of Markarth as well as as an area west of Darklight Tower. First I threw out the ancient MoMod I still had, then followed SkyRe, then several follower-mods which kept showing up in Papyrus-logs. To no avail. After switching to SPERG and setting the game up for Alternative Start, I managed to narrow it down to Immersive Armors, after whose MCM-setup I hit tmm 1 into console. Travelling to locations that would crash in prior playthroughs continued to do so in the same manner, whether via fast travel or slogging there on foot. So with a somewhat heavy heart - it _is_quality work after all - I'll be waving Immersive Armors goodbye. Currently checking whether Armonizer, one of the more expansive armor collections included therein, will play nicer...
vram1974
Immersive Armors indeed has a lot of meshes. I know because I went through each one adding specular highlights and it took forever.

Thanks.Immersive Armors tend to load several texture paths at once, each of the armors is not a single diffuse...some load up to 15 or more texture paths. Even if the bit it is loading is only four inches of ankle skin, it loads the skin. If you do not have a decent rig, don't use mashups. :)
