texture mod suggestions

I am looking for mods that improve the looks of NPCs.

Either a general overhaul or piecemeal like no more blocky faces.

 

I all ready have cbbe and better males.

 

Also what is good way to improve the looks of towns with a limited performance hit?

I would like separate mods for both. So if something goes wrong I can uninstall the mod.

For NPCs there's Bijin Warmaidens, Bijin Wives, Inhabitants of Skyrim.

 

I prefer Windsong, personally.

I combine Inhabitants of Skyrim with zzjay's Women of Skyrim normalmaps and Mature Skin textures to make ladies look great and somewhat lore-friendly at the same time. If you want a cleaner look, you could also try SG Female Textures. It also has 2k options for less performance impact.

 

For guys I use optimized textures of SkySight Skins and Geonox's High Res Maps for Men. You probably don't need the latter since you have Better Males installed already.

 

You can try to install city/town specific textures from large texture packs like Tamriel Reloaded HD. I heard that installing the Dawn of Skyrim series has less of an impact on your system as JK's overhauls, so you might want to look into that. I personally prefer city expansion mods to city overhauls as they're not as performance heavy while giving you a sense of largeness and urban sprawl.
