Archista
Hi guys,Just a little pissed off here since my in-game video settings keep on auto-adjusting (to pretty much LOW) no matter what i do... And i have no idea what is causing this? Last time i recall playing Oblivion (a while ago), I was fully in control of my settings and could adjust them to my liking.Any idea's? I have an Nvidia 8600GTAnd that nvidia control pannel (included in drivers package), which seems to let you configure to auto or manual control for program video settings, yet it doesnt work for oblivion it seems -> since it's allways auto adjusting. Also i'm wondering if it's due to the new PhysX thing ? Any answers are truly appreciated!
Hickory
Sounds like your ini file is not being saved. Go into \Documents\My Games\Oblivion\ and delete oblivion.ini. Then, start the game from the OblivionLauncher.exe, so that your hardware is re-detected and oblivion.ini is rebuilt. Now set your options in the launcher, start the game and tweak your settings in the game options. Load or start a game and open the console. Type: saveini Quit and restart. See if your settings have held. If they have, then it's odds on that you are experiencing crashing on exit, when your settings are getting lost. To get over this, try weOCPS and Fast Exit (require OBSE).
Archista
Thanks Hickory! I will try this out immediately. EDIT:Well it wasn't that :/... The settings keep on adjusting themselves. Also i noticed they adjust themselves differently and constantly, depending on where i am in-game (outside or in a closed room etc) they go up in quality if i'm in a small cell, and low if i'm outside with lots of buildings etc. It's got to be some external program overriding the manual settings... Don't we love technology sometimes! Edited January 16, 2011 by Archista

Archista
If you are running the Streamline mod - that is what it is designed to do... That's it! Thankyou!I guess Streamline isn't for me untill i update my hardware. I know my card can handle this without it. Thanks again for helping me out. LFact
I suggest you to Streamline, but only Streampurge and Streamsave, if your graphic card can handle highest settings. You can configure it in-game, or edit SL.ini, then re-initialize it.
