CrunchyMoogle
It's to my understanding that you can simply go to jail to decrease major skills. I'm not sure what the max is, but the higher your level, the more overpowered NPCs and boss monsters are. Even daedric weapons and armor seem useless. Powerful spells do minimal damage. Because leveled equipment officially stop getting stronger at level 30, and how powerful your character is is proportional to how strong other NPCs are, it's probably smarter to stop leveling past 30, even lower than that if you specialize in a single fighting style. I've managed to max out every attribute aside from personality and luck at mid-20s. Because increasing remaining attributes and maximum health (which is why it's important to max out endurance asap) are the only true benefits to leveling after level 30, what is the value to power leveling? I consider my odds less in my favor at higher levels because that means NPCs are catching up their attributes and will eventually be even with me. Also, what is the highest level character you have worked on?
SandsOfTime404
I'd power level just to force out more of a challenge from NPCs. I've always noticed that if I level my character efficiently the difficulty of the game sharply decreases around the 25-35 range. Aside from that, if I'm using armor from mods that has some powerful defenses and enchantments, coupled with a rather powerful weapon, I'll need stronger enemies. I'm not the kind of person that likes being ambushed by some bandits in the middle of nowhere, and subsequently dropping them in one hit. If I'm outnumbered three to one, I want it to feel like I'm outnumbered. Suppose that it depends on how you want to play the game. I've played it enough on easy difficulties that I want a challenge now. I've seen enough of the game that a challenge isn't bad, as I'm not worried about easily being able to do a quest or try some obscure Ayleid ruins out. CrunchyMoogle
^^I guess harder is better, but then again it's annoying spending a few minutes trying to kill each other with repetitive slashing. At higher levels the weapons seem incredibly weak. For you and the enemy. I can't say I've ever died aside from killing myself or a few times early on fighting guards. It would be really cool if you could fight monsters that are "larger-than-life." The Deadlands, in my opinion, is the place to go to find the cooler monsters to fight, but I still would rather spend a few minutes fighting a leviathan instead of a few bandits. I digress... SandsOfTime404
Nah, I get what you mean. It'd be nice to have some giant battle axe wielding Daedra or something that you can go kill with some companions. I don't mind slashing back and forth a few times with bandits though because there's really not much variety in the enemy encounters to begin, simply because there's not any giant Daedra bosses hiding out in a cave somewhere. The novelty of the combat seems to wear off a little more slowly, for me at least, if the fights at least last a little longer, even if we're just clicking the same button over and over. majikmonkee
My character, Christian, is at like level 35 and seemed to kind of level out to where he wasn't progressing very quickly anymore. At that point, though, enemies seemed to fall too easily with my skills built up even at that point. However, I'm a "low level addict" and like to roll characters with seven skills I never use so they live in the world of perpetual level 1 enemies, I find this to make the game more playable for thieves and assassins that I play. Oddly enough, enemies lack challenge when I play the game that way too, as they seem to be falling with a single well placed stab. Of course, most of my thieves and assassins utilize the Deadly Reflex stealth strike, and if that doesn't reduce the challenge of combat, I don't know what does... Ursanclaw
Why not max out your character? When I choose skills, I tend to use them to the fullest. If you find the game being too hard at high levels, you might want to search for reflect-damage and -spell effect armor. Or make your own potions of course.A very succesful way for me was making a customised blades-outfit with magic-imunity.If you want to make reflect spells the Tower-sign is real handy, as you don't get the effect any other way (if you don't have Shivering Isles) And if I find my game dull and easy, I just increase difficulty xD
