Question's about Getting permissions

ok so i'm working on a follower mod based off the desert succubus mod (personal use for now but may change later if i can get permissions)

but say i wanted to get permission to release MY mod with the assets of the DS mod on here...

normally i'd just contact the owner of the mod/s and ask for permission right? well... i read that the owner of the DS mod was lost in a auto accident? (can anyone confirm this?) anyway, what do i do if an author can no longer be reached, but their mods still exist here?

i don't wanna just release it and risk getting in trouble you know?

so can anyone shed light on this?

Unless the author has made some kind of "if I can not be reached" then you must follow the permissions as they are set. We have discussed this situation more than once but no agreement seems to be able to be made.

 

So I'd read the permissions carefully and follow them.

 

Sorry I realize that is difficult but that is the current rule and a way we honor our promises to mod authors, every one of them, to protect their work.~Lisnpuppy

If they allow you to use their mod as a requirement then you can do that and not have any of the actually assets in the file. Your file just would not work as it would be a dependent of that file.
