Arkngt
I like ThisMalkavian's T6M Pink Princess Outfit for Fallout New Vegas and thought I'd convert it to Fallout 3, which is iffy as it incorporates a holstered Silenced .22 Pistol, which is a Fallout New Vegas asset. So I thought I'd remove it and replace it with a 10 mm gun, but that turned out to be easier said than done as the mesh for a gun is rather complex, with several parts etc. Can I mash together a 10 mm pistol somehow so it's all in one "static" piece, making it easier to mash together with the holster? M48A5
Are you sure about the silenced pistol. I ported the Pink Princess shortly after it was uploaded and the pistol displays in FO3 without a problem. I don't have FNV. I did have to download and install the separate the texture mod. If you look at the "FROM USERS" images, I was the second person to upload images. You would have to inform anyone downloading the mod that they would have to get the pistol texture file separately. And just a thought, I added the locker to the top floor of the Megaton Common House.
Arkngt
Yes, the .22 displays fine with Millenia's retexture in Fallout 3. The issue is rather with RELEASING a port as it uses FNV assets. So a kosher port should use F3 assets. Also, I wonder how it's done - it's fun to learn new stuff about NifSkope etc. Edited May 31, 2015 by Arkngt
M48A5
I have done what you thinking of doing using a pair Beretta 92Cs that I added to thigh holsters in an armor I modified. http://static-5.nexusmods.com/15/images/120/2671481-1424824319.jpg The only way I know how to do it would be using Blender and it is a very frustrating ordeal. You would have to upload the weapon and remove all the collision from it. Then you could join all the individual parts using the "join" command. Once that is done, you should export the weapon to make sure it would export correctly. Now import the weapon and the holster you are going to use. The hard part is now getting the handgun into the holster. Once you have it in position, you can delete all the vertex are not displayed and join the handgun to the holster. Now the rig is ready for export. Edited May 31, 2015 by M48A5
Arkngt
Aha, thanks. I hoped it would be possible to do with a little NifSkope magic. Theoretically, I guess one could copy/paste each branch of the weapon and reposition them in the holster, but it would probably be crazily frustrating - if it even works. I've never used Blender - perhaps I'll try it out this summer as I suspect I will have a lot of free time. Edited May 31, 2015 by Arkngt
M48A5
It is good that you will have some time, you are going to need it. You can get Blender and associated tools here: http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/Blender Pay attention to the install order, otherwise it won't work. You will need the Blender manual http://www.blendernation.com/2008/09/17/download-the-blender-wiki-in-pdf/ I have never updated the copy (2.49) I have since the Nif Scripts have not been updated to match the newest blender. rickerhk
Recently I could not find a download to Blender 2.49b on the Blender web pages. Finally found it here: https://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.49b/
