Hello all (: im new to PC gaming and plan on purchasing the Alienware alpha i7.

I know i could build myself a PC but i am honestly far to lazy and would rather my first PC be something similar to a console.

My question is: Do you guys think id be able to run ENB mods on skyrim with good framerates?

I would love for anyone to give me some info about the alpha if they have it/ know alot about it.

Could it play any games such as The Witcher 3 good? Is it future proof?

I could always upgrade to 16gb ram if i need to but as of now i think 8gb is enough.

I had an old Alienware laptop which could run Skyrim with an ENB (granted, only at about 20-30 frames-per-second) but a new Alienware desktop should have no problems.

The Witcher 3 is well optimised so it should work fine as well.

Upgrading to 16GB of RAM will not make much difference in regards to gaming performance, but it's up to you. Others swear by upgrading RAM, but me, not so much.

2GB of VRAM is not a lot and may be problematic, the fact that they won't say what the GPU is should be a cause for concern as well. You should shop around, Alienware are overpriced, you could do a lot better elsewhere.

It doesn't specify the graphics card, but the other stuff seems to be pretty good. From what I gather, it might not be able to run everything on max settings (newer games especially) but it should be fine in any case.

EDIT: Ninja'd. But yeah, as Jim said, there are much better alternatives.

There are other websites that offer pre-built gaming desktops that are both cheaper and more powerful than Alienware - just have a look around and check 'em out. If you can't find anything, then yeah, you can always build one. :)

Short answer: Yes

Longer answer - Yes, HOWEVER, based on what mods you insist on using, Skyrim can bring ANY computer that you can buy OR build today to its knees.

IMHO: Alienware is 90% Dell and 10% hype. It is not a bad computer, but since it was taken over by Dell, not what it used to be. Check the specs on any computer you are looking into before committing.
