Not really HERE!!! yet, just a trailer that tells us they MAY announce a more or less official release date in a couple of weeks. The actual release could be in 2 weeks, 2 months or for Christmas. Hopefully we will know more after their official announcement in a couple of weeks. If you get busy you should have plenty of time to complete FO3 or FO:NV - but if it is in 2 weeks probably not both.

True, but to be completely honest I'm just so glad that we actually know it's confirmed. After five years of being in the dark it feels so great to know Fallout 4 is indeed coming!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

i am,

However, i sure hope its more like Fallout 3 then that piece of rubbish they call NV.... i only finished that one once.. and that was more then enough. Fallout 3 however, i finished like 50 times.. and i still play it today... a masterful game... it got everything right... whereas NV got everything wrong.....

I already bought FO4 a week ago... Lets hope that it will get everything right again, so that it doesn't get a spot in my games-lemon cyber museum....

That E3 presentation left me thoroughly unimpressed. Pointless Minecraft-like building mechanics. Butchering the SPECIAL system.

And oh my god! I can play mini games on my Pip-Boy! It's what I always wanted!

Bethesda should just let Obsidian make a sequel to New Vegas since they know how to make RPGs, but hopes for that are very low.

Personally, I thought everything Bethesda showed off was awesome. I actually think the building system will add a lot to the game, especially with the defence mechanics and such. As for the Pip-Boy games, I'll probably play them once and then completely forget about them, but it's still funny how they're included.

Graphics, customisation and character interaction seem to have been drastically improved, too. That's always a big plus.

The only thing I'm not certain about it the voiced protagonist and the effect it will have on modding. Apparently the male and female voice actors for the protagonist each had to voice over 13,000 lines over 2 years, so hopefully there will be enough variety in dialogue to be adapted to mod projects.

I was also happy with the overall presentation of the game.
The building feature instantly made me happy for the chance to build a merchant town.
The only real thing I didn't like, was the intrusive HUD, but we all know we can change that. Hopefully, a nice, unintrusive but informative version of VATS will be created too.

Far as my experience goes, the modding community on the Nexus can do anything.... anything at all... Dev's break it or get it wrong.. they fix it...
