CMsgtReaper
I don't know about you but I think Bethesda should kick quite a few of their tallentless moronic faculty and hire some of the gifted people pumping out these great mods, like Ren, Growlf, Eshme, and Aleanne just to name a few, nude mods aside. My kid could design better looking hair, body, armor, weapons etc. than those idiots. Major kudos to all you modders with real taste and tallent. Bethesda should pay YOU for cleaning up their crap! That's all i have to say.

Marxist ßastard
The downside? The guy who said this... Oblivion is a sword-and-sorcery-epic-role-playing-game, you know, the thing you see in Lord of the Rings or stuff like that and at it's heart, you know it is... this run through dungeons and kill things game... and all these features and it's all kind of ... there're so many things you'll get attach to... but at it's heart it's run through dungeons and kill creatures and take good stuff and buy bigger weapons and kill bigger creatures, and thats kind of layered in on top of this, wow look at these flowers, can i pick that? you know, it's almost two things sitting on top of each other, here's that game and then here's the virtual world....Would be your new boss. "I can't move to America" "Dang I wish I were 18". "Awesome!" "I'd love to help but I don't have any experience!" "Can't wait till Fallout 3!" "Keep a spot free for a few years and I'll join!" "How about madmole?" "yes madmole" "I agree on madmole" "Take madmole!"
Guest Tessera
The only good thing in that thread was that it told us they're working on Fallout 3. I liked the first two very much. Hopefully, they'll stick to the adult themes of those first two Fallout games and not dumb it down for the console crowd. I also agree with the OP that there are a few very talented modders out there, who deserve a nod from the big gaming studios. However, consider this: modders do what they do because it's a labor of love and they enjoy it. They can also afford to take as much time as they want to as they construct and tweak their various creations. So what if, let's say, Eshme messes around for a week until she's happy with the way the buttocks look on her female mashes and textures..? She's not on anyone's payroll and she can take all the time that she wants to... until everything is "perfect" in her eyes. She has that luxury of unlimited time and the free expression of her own ideals. What I'm suggesting is that that I don't think the artists and developers at Bethesda are any less talented than the best modders are. I think it's more a matter of being a part of a large commercial enterprise and thus being subjected to various externally imposed constraints. Budgets... project deadlines... censorship of your best work by the greedy "suits" up in Marketing, who want the finished product to be "more widely acceptable"... all of those factors could combine to force you to produce less-than-optimal (or dumbed down) work. I could go into more detail, but I think you see what I'm getting at: that it's all about the money... and economics never did mix very well with true art. Well, they're hiring for level design, not 3d modeling. They want people who have a good sense of how everything plays as well as looks. Honestly, I'd apply if I had more of a portfolio to speak of. Somehow I don't think they would look too favorably on a dozen or so maps for outdated FPS games (provided I can find them, and a computer that'll let me run the game with screenshots), and a few half-finished Oblivion projects. JadedRyu
I agree, there are so many talent people out there. Also, a question about Growlf's mods, I can never get the clothes to appear, they ar elike invisble I can buy them and epuip them but then my character looks like a floating head. I think it might have to do with the meshes, but I put them in the Mesh folder and that still doesn't seem to work..
Stampede
Hi there If you have a question about a mod, please post it in the general mod discussion thread, or in the thread for that plugin itself. (Even better.) :) Otherwise this counts as thread hijacking and hijacking in any sense is a no-no. (Especially where I live) Thanks.
dreth
Bethesda could really use talent like Adonnay for weapons and such. I think many modders put more effort into what they make than people who get paid to do it.
