sgtsmyles
Hey guys, I'm new to the modding community, and I am following instructions to these 3 mods. however when i go into the game. 1. i travel to the location of the lich king armor, and there are large white boxes with yellow exclamation points in the area where it should be? 2. the hemmingway's capes and black ranger duirass are in thier location and i can retireve them, but when i equip the cape it doesnt register on my character. and the cuirass when equipped turns my midsection invisible. If you guys can give me any advice or direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Hickory
Check if you installed the mod correctly. Yellow ! means missing mesh.I'm almost positive I installed it correctly, I followed the instructions which the creator wrote. I'm positive that you haven't installed them correctly. As stated, yellow exclamation marks indicate missing meshes. For the Lich King armour, try the OMOD version (requires OBMM). For Hemingwey's capes please read the installation instructions VERY CAREFULLY, as it is a non-standard installation.
Hemingwey
For Hemingwey's capes please read the installation instructions VERY CAREFULLY, as it is a non-standard installation. Not really non-standard. :ermm: The problem experienced with the cape not showing when equipped is likely because the player is equipping an amulet slot cape with mod-added armor or clothing. Most of the capes use the amulet inventory slot and most armor hides amulets, and therefore, the amulet slot capes. (Note: There are tail slot capes available in the Hemingwey's Capes mod, indicated by cape names ending with the annotation '(T).' Tail slot capes will not be hidden by armor; however, DO NOT attempt to equip tail slot capes on a beast race character, as the same will cause the character to lose his or her tail.) Hemingwey's Capes sets all stock Oblivion armor and clothing to show amulets, and therefore, amulet slot capes. (The OOO version of Hemingwey's Capes also sets all OOO armor and clothing to show amulets/capes.) If you are using mods (other than OOO) that add armor or clothing to the game, the solution (as explained very clearly in the readme file) is to use Wrye Bash and enable the 'show amulets' features of Wrye Bash when building your bashed patch (this is also explained in great detail in the readme). (Be careful, however, do not enable Wrye Bash's 'unlimited amulets' feature as the same will hide all amulets -- and amulet slot capes). I hope this helps. Regards, Hem
Hickory
For Hemingwey's capes please read the installation instructions VERY CAREFULLY, as it is a non-standard installation. Not really non-standard. :ermm: Well then you have a very odd idea of what a standard installation is, bearing in mind that not everybody is savvy about installing mods correctly. Now, let's see: Hemingweys Capes v3_0 beta-29012-1.exeDefault extraction folder: Desktop (what a mess that leaves on your desktop)Archive folder structure extracted to desktop: Component ESPS [folder]FCOM [folder]Meshes [folder]MMM [folder]OOO [folder]Textures [folder]Upgrade Patches [folder]BOSS Master List Additions.txtHemingweys Capes Improved.esmHemingweys Capes Improved.espHemingweys Capes Spoilers Guide v3_0.txtreadme.txt Now if that's "not really non-standard", I'd like to hear a clear and precise explanation of why not. Hemingwey
Now if that's "not really non-standard", I'd like to hear a clear and precise explanation of why not. I guess it never occured to me anyone would download or extract mod files to their desk top. The file structure of Hemingwey's Capes is consistent with that employed by most (or at least many) manual install mods and simply extracting to your Oblivion/data/ directory will work (it just not recommended as you will add a bunch of unecessary or redundant folders due to the various configuration options I have provided). In my experience it is usually best to extract mod files to a temporary or separate location (not your desk top) and review the file structure and readme...that goes for all mods, especially manual install mods. I actually keep all my donwloaded and extracted mod files around for backup purposes...but I do have a lot of storage disk space. One way in which the Hemingwey's Capes download does differ from many other mods, however, is that the download package is a self-extracting 7-zip archive (.exe). My reason for going with a self-extracting archive was to make extraction easier for novice mod users...no need to go find, download and install 7-zip, etc. Perhaps there is some confusion for a few users created by the .exe file type and they assume it is a self-installer ala OOO and a few other larger and more complex mods. The final release of version will likely be presented in an OMOD ready/BAIN compliant/manual install compatible format (which will make manual installation a bit trickier, but should please BAIN and OBMM fans)...however, downloading and extracting to your desk top still wouldn't be my first choice... All in good fun...btw. Regards, Hem

I guess it never occured to me anyone would download or extract mod files to their desk top. In my experience, most people download to their desktop for convenience. It is simple to scan/open/run files, then delete or back them up. The file structure of Hemingwey's Capes is consistent with that employed by most (or at least many) manual install mods I disagree. Hemingwey Capes is a more complicated mod (installation wise) than most, and that is why I said it is non standard. I am not knocking your mod in any way, just pointing out to the OP to read the instructions carefully. Please don't make the mistake that everybody knows as much about mods as yourself. and simply extracting to your Oblivion/data/ directory will work (it just not recommended as you will add a bunch of unecessary or redundant folders due to the various configuration options I have provided). Non standard, right? In my experience it is usually best to extract mod files to a temporary or separate location (not your desk top) Your self-extractor does that. It is not necessary when 7zip is free, and Windows can view zip files directly. and review the file structure and readme...that goes for all mods, especially manual install mods. Which is what I was explaining to the OP. I actually keep all my donwloaded and extracted mod files around for backup purposes...but I do have a lot of storage disk space. Me too. All of my downloaded mods are on a spare 2TB drive. The final release of version will likely be presented in an OMOD ready/BAIN compliant/manual install compatible format (which will make manual installation a bit trickier, but should please BAIN and OBMM fans) To a complete novice, your self extractor and folder structure is no less tricky, believe me. ...however, downloading and extracting to your desk top still wouldn't be my first choice... As I said before, most people download to their desktop for convenience. And the extactiing is, again, down to your self extractor. All in good fun...btw. Regards, Hem I understand what you mean, but troubles with installations are not fun to the struggling clueless.

Fair enough, and no offense taken. I agree with your statement about reading the readme very carefully and would encourage the same for most every installation of every mod. When I, myself, have problems with my game it is usually because I failed to review the readme files for one or more recently installed mods. Happy modding!
