kellogsfrostedflakes
I was wondering how to change the lighting properties of a texture. I'm trying to make a cloth texture and I have the texture and it's normal map, but in game it's really reflective and has a lot of glare. It looks latex instead of soft like cotton. What causes this? zaty1
Take a peek at the alpha channel on the normal map - sounds like it is fairly white/bright.
kellogsfrostedflakes
It was completely white. For some reason, when I change it in photoshop with a darker fill, the alpha channel gets dropped when I save as a .dds. I tried a few of the different setting when saving (dxt3, dxt5 and so on). Is there a setting I need to click somewhere?
zaty1
I save my normals as DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp interpolated alpha and don't have problems. I am not aware of other settings that would drop the alpha channel.
