  1. Not original author - if I vaguely remember the last time - it was sourcing other peoples' textures/photos without permission... not necessarily.. a mod thief..
  2. "Texture thief" would get the mod pulled no matter what.
  3. I agree. I still have... can't even remember the name. The one for fo3 / megaton bar. I liked that one. Quick search - there it is... http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/1990/?
  4. You've looked at this? http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1822/?
  5. Well, in theory - depending on what you use to stream.. it could sort of already be done. A few years ago I used to stream/save stuff - free music broadcasts online/etc. The program would just stream/download it to a single file - and I would play from that. So you'd start your program/stream in the background - nosound/don't play - and just have it redirected to the location for the radio station... and you'd fire up the radio station ingame and it would just start from there... in theory anyways. Might throw some errors about file being in use or something else - not sure.
  6. I had better success tinkering with prerendered frames 1 or turning triple buffer off while using vsync. While using a frame limiter - I also had better results using a cap of 58/59 vs 60. Some other things to mess around with.. if anything - ymmv.
  7. I'd keep making it. It may not be an issue now, but in the future - you'll also see modders fade/disappear or end support based on Bethesda updates, lack of interest, real life interference, etc. Actual file replacements might not need such upkeep - but still, everyone enjoys variety - well, I know I do atleast. :)
  8. I thought about this the first time he blocked a door. Then I wondered - does that remove his ability to also block people from coming after me? Will they run right through him?
  9. @ModofDuty - I can barely respond to you without derailing this topic and getting myself in trouble. So, here is more info than you need to negatively stereotype me. I'm an uncle to 6 children under 10. I have 3 brothers, I am the oldest, the youngest born when I was almost 16. I have done 1000's of hours of volunteer service work. I have no children. I have 2 cats - if that counts. If I had a child, I would protect it til my dying breath. Please, tell me that you know what goes on in my head. Are we still functioning on fact? or opinion? Are we functioning on a "possibility" now? That something may be used inappropriately? So I pose you a few questions-- Do we remove all guns mods from this site because I "might" use one to shoot a child in the face ingame? (WHOA) Would you let me, a stranger, buy your whole family icecream randomly one night? Do I really need to state a reason? For sake of argument, I don't tell you - my child was stillborn this day. Would you call the cops on me if your child ran into my frame as I snapped a picture of the sunset? How about if I was photopgraphing my nieces and nephews? "I am not trying to police peoples' thoughts. My argument is that removing and banning mods that can have the possibility of atrocious uses involving children should be implemented" Now, we want to put a measured definition on "possibility"? Seriously? My response pages ago stands - we will sit here and argue about hypocrisy, irony, and opinion. I'm willing to discuss logically - not emotionally. Start a new thread about the removal of kid oriented mods if that is your real position. This thread was about attempting to get an offensive tag for possibly offensive content. Edit- To the mods that constantly need to come check on this - I'm sorry.
  10. I understand your stance. But now, we are asking them to be thought police? Judiciously removing anything that can be twisted in a wrong way? And we weren't supposed to bring thought control into this conversation? I knew I shouldn't have bothered posting. Good day, ma'am.
  11. The Nexus is pretty tight on the ToS with their rules/content limitations. I doubt we will see pedophilia acceptable here anytime soon - ie. Never. Ever. To the reverse end of the spectrum though - how long til the Nexus is full of nothing but cheery (offensive) puppies (offensive) playing in rainbow glitter (offensive)? This is like debating what else should be outright banned from the ToS. Are killable children offensive - a fact? or opinion? What about killable..... adults? Killable... life? How do you define - offensive?
  12. Nah, I'm out. I honestly feel like I'm getting trolled now. Goodluck sir.
  13. In theory, under your proposition - they both stay on the site. As I've asked before - how do you define the rules. Horse moved to offensive. Cat is not. Why not both? How do you explain that to the 2 authors. How do you explain to me the rules that moved my horse mod to an offensive click wall, and the exploding cats mod was not. Bear in mind, again hypothetically, but if someone were to be intent on endorsements and praise for a mod, how do you explain the rules that define why they are "targeted". I'm ASKING HOW, if there is no "considerable debate" about the cat mod - does it get moved to offensive? A fair standard is not being applied if you base it on "considerable debate" in this example. The squeaky wheel is getting the grease. Making an offensive catagory just means essentially every mod up'd to this site must yet pass through another filter. One that, til it is distinctly defined, is ruled by opinion. Note: Please, bear in mind - I don't like stuff being outright removed either. My wife is heavy into history, and actually does alot of photographic catalog'n for historical battles/artifacts/etc. Some stuff I know will be removed, but has historical relevence to me, I admit I download instantly for personal use, editing, etc. But under the same reasons, it is why I don't bother uploading all the other content I've made using the photos I have access to. Sad I know, but I'd rather not deal with the pitchforks.
  14. I don't think I'm fully explaining what I mean and you might be taking my words literal and not the implied ideas behind them. This is my last approach. I make an exploding horse mod(MLP). It is gory - people find it offensive - Everyone loves MLP. It gets moved to offensive catagory because they huff and puff. You make exploding cat mod(HelloKitty). It is gory - people don't care. Everyone hates cats. Why? Opinion. (and an oddly weird set of beliefs in this example) I know my examples are silly - and all the stuff that is undefined will pop up, and quite possibly be silly. So how do you apply undefined rules? The tags are pretty factual, and offensive is hard to define - cut and dry. But, why does it need to be tagged anything. It has been a long time since I created my account. I could have easily accepted in the agreement that I may see potentially offensive content. Then what? What about clumping it with adult content/consent? If everyone truly did follow the rules in the ToS pertaining to file and imagedatabase comments - we wouldn't even know that anything offended anyone. But, hey - way different topic. Or, is it?
  15. @sherameyn - Actually I was using the rainbows - but knowing my wife's friends... meat definitely is offensive too... :(
  16. How do you define "considerable debate" then? How long til, hypothetically, someone "takes offense" to http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2355/? and starts a crusade to have it pulled? Tongue-in-cheek here, obviously - but what about actual hard feelings between authors of various "gray area" mods? What qualifies? Why add yet another section heavily controlled by opinion that the moderaters have to dance about dealing with? Why do I have to knowingly open an "offensive" catagory to look at stuff? Can I be offended that my opinion is catagorized as offensive? Goodluck with this, I do truly hope some kind of solution can be found. Til then, I'll keep blocking authors. :)
  17. @TheScout201- In general, the tags for files are based upon "fact". Go read them. You can debate a few of them. Cheats, NSFW, humor, unrealistic - and some others. Offensive is not a cut and dry catagory unless you wholesale. I'm not debating whether this option is good or bad. I simply don't see it being a feasible fix to anything. That's all. As I said earlier - we are just going to sit here all day trying to catagorize hypocrisy, irony, and opinion. I still don't see a file specific block. I'd be more than happy with that. Then anyone can block anything they want, period, without blocking a whole pile.
  18. You state mod authors could tag as offensive. Therefore - their opinion out of the gate - trumps mine.
  19. So, someone says killing children is offensive - and they mark it offensive. Someone else says slavery is offensive and they mark it offensive. I say 4k HD soap(example) is offensive and I mark it offensive - yet I don't find killing children offensive or slavery offensive. Now it is filtered anyways. So how do I find those mods? Why, I sort through all the offensive stuff, negating the offensive tag. I know you mentioned it in your post. But offensive is a vague catagory. I just don't see it as feasible (even if I wanted the option). I'll stick with what I've been doing lately. Block the author of content I find offensive. Unfortunately, this blocks all their stuff. (Not that, they generally have anything else I'd want anyways - currently - I atleast do check) I'd rather just have the option to block specific files, and be done. If this already exists - please point me to it.
  20. I had a giant mutli paragraph post and decided it wasn't worth it. There is going to be no end to debating hypocrisy, irony, and opinion. In the end, as you said, "private" site - their rules.
  21. Offensive content still generates offensive comments / conversations. I "feel" most of the mods get pulled because OF that. Nothing really wrong with historically accurate clothing and accessories IMO. All the flamebaiting banter that comes with it is. There is absolutely zero reason for that to be spewing all over comment sections. The only real way to prevent that - is total removal. Grats on your nice, new and, shiny account.
  22. Might be something to do with the music? Or, maybe the author put up something else that got them banned and files removed. If either is the case, I'd be wary of even posting you an offsite link. Sorry.
  23. Not sure how old your computer is or what kind of detail you want within the game... I pulled out a junky 5-6 year old computer that can run this. Obviously, fps is low - but there are a bunch of low texture mods, memory boosters, shadow fixers, etc.. etc.. etc.. that can really help a lower end machine run the game. If you want awesome eyecandy - well.... =\
  24. So, the no vsync - 75hz with framelimit at 73/74 felt better - it had a different issue with it - and instead of 1 tear - multiples. Yuk. So I returned to 60hz to mess around some more. Using enblocal.ini - framelimit to 60. Vsync through nvidia - zero stutter/lag while strafing, and no tearing. Testing on 59 or 61 both gave issue. Prerender 1 - no ingame vsync. I also tried vsync in enblocal and framelimiter through nvidia - no good even with matching settings... /boggle. Might just be specific to my machine but I am super happy now that I can play without tearing, AND, not suffer strafe stuttering as I scavenge -.-
