thisaccountisuseless
So, you are given the choice in the beginning too create your character, and while from a lore perspective, the default starting race is an Imperial without a name. However, the Player in the Construction Set does have a name, and I'm taking this to be the lore-perspective Hero's name: "Bendu Olo". If you open the CS and go through the Actor list and find "Player, their name is listed as Bendu Olo. I'm not a lore expert, but that doesn't really seem like an Imperial's name. More like a Breton name. http://i.imgur.com/BULAsBlh.png
Meihyr
I thought that name sounded familiar. :PIf you look on the Creation Kit Wiki there is a tutorial that teaches you how to create an actor. The name they use for that actor is Bendu Olo.
Surilindur
It seems UESP has a separate page for him. Or her. Or whatever he/she is to become. Also, there is a link to a small lore section about King Bendu Olo of Anvil. I had never really thought much about the name. And I think it could also sound a bit like a Dunmer name, maybe? Could it? Edit: There is also this title (or description?, maybe?) on UESP page of Pocket Guide to Empire, 1st Edition for Bendu Olo: Bendu Olo, West King of Anvil and Baron-Admiral of the All Flags Navy, and Dealer of Swift Justice to the Foul Spot of Thras. The Skyrim main character was just "Prisoner", was it? No fancy name for him/her. Edited June 21, 2015 by PhilippePetain
3rdtryguy
Bendu Olo sounds more Dunmer or Argonian to me.
ZurinArctus85
That's interesting. The form IDs 00000014 and 00000007 are the default formIDs in the Gamebryo and Creation engines for the player character.
TheMastersSon
Oblivion's Wiki pages list Bendu Olo as a Nord e.g. http://tesfanon.wikia.com/wiki/Bendu_Olo_(Jubaku) "It is possible that Bendu Olo is in someway related to Olaj Olo, the supposed Nordic demi-god of mead, who fought alongside Ysgramor's Five Hundred Companions." Also, here's how to play as Bendu if you want:"If you replace the data\menus\chargen\race_sex_menu.xml with a blank file, the New Game button will skip the race menu and spawn you as Bendu." ZurinArctus85
That particular branch of wikia is unreliable. Use UESP or the OFFICIAL wikia pages for Elder Scrolls.
Oblivionaddicted
Bendu Olo is always better than Random nameless guy I suppose.^^
TheMastersSon
It always sounded like an anagram to me. Lo and behold: "Ben Olodu, the apparent man who interviewed 'Tim Howard'(Actually Todd Howard), is just an anagram for Bendu Olo(The default character name in Oblivion)" http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:253715
