Requesting Help: Wasteland Survival Guide Bug Injury Quest

Hello.

 

I seem to be having a problem with completing the 2nd chapter of the Wasteland survival guide for the injury part of the quest. The objectives never change even when I get a crippling injury and go 50% below my health. I really want to continue with this quest but this issue keeps preventing me from continuing it.

 

Here are some things that might be important to note:

I am running a 64 bit Windows 8.1 OS on a ASUS Touchscreen Laptop

I am using the Fallout 3 GOTY edition downloaded off steam

I used the "ULTIMATE FALLOUT 3 SETUP GUIDE" to optimize my game for Windows 8.1 (Link: http://steamcommunity.com/app/22370/discussions/0/828937546147175081/)

-I changed lines of code in the fallout.ini using these instructions:

• find (control F) bUseThreadedAI=0
• CHANGE to bUseThreadedAI=1
• Immediately after this line, ADD this new line:
• iNumHWThreads=2

-And some other changes like updating Games for Windows Live and others I can't remember off the top of my head

I also did use console commands to increase my health to 2000 and increased my carry-weight to around 10000 (I like to explore, but still be able to be in a position where I can still die)

 

I think that is everything that might be needed to be said. If there is anything else that might help with figuring out the issue please feel free to ask, I just want to get this quest completed and continue onto the next chapter.

Is the Unofficial patch the only mod you're using? If not, a load order could be helpful.

Yes it is the only mod I am using.

That right there might just be why the objective doesn't update. Try temporarily setting your health back to 100 or so and see if it has any effect.

I'll try that. I think that was what was causing the problems but I wasn't sure. I'll update you on if it worked.

You were right. I did lower my health points down to a reasonable level. I followed the Fo3 health points formula

Example: A starting Endurance of 5 at Level 1

And I got around 380 HP. I jumped off the railing outside of the Craterside supply and the objectives updated. I also had avoided the quest for so long that I had enough skill points in medicine that I could do a bypass. I think I had around a level 70 or 75 medicine skill. Thanks for your help in this I really appreciate it. I'm almost done with the last chapter.
