InuyashaFE
I've followed through the tutorial, made several NPCs, and yet they haven't appeared. They are all quest items, I haven't fiddled with that. What exactly is the problem?
Hickory
You say you made them, but did you place them in-game? Have you checked their scedule? They may have wandered off somewhere.

I placed them in-game, yes. That's highly unlikely, their in a custom cell which the only way to get in and out of is a teleport spell.
Hickory
And is your plugin activated?
InuyashaFE
And is your plugin activated? The plug-in is active, yes, everything is in working order (relatively. I'm having difficulty with the teleportation spells but that's another matter entirely) except for the NPCs, they won't appear in the custom cell, but the cell itself is in working order. Hickory
Ok, then let's assume for a moment that they are in the game but not where they should be (may have fallen through a floor -- it happens). Right, save your game in the console like so: save "savegame" 1 What that does is dumps the save game to a text file called "savegame.ess.txt". Open up that text file and search for the name/s of your CM partner/s. There will be one or maybe two entries for each along the lines of: 81009AE7 553 2C000004 125 NameOfPartner The number in red is what you are looking for. Now, in game (substituting the number in red for your own) type: prid 81009AE7 moveto player Does your partner appear next to you? If yes, then something has gone wrong with their placing. If no, then they are not in-game at all, assuming they are essential and haven't died.

I may have placed them slightly above the floor, hoping to counter-act that. Or I may have used the F key to force them to the ground. Could either of these be my problem? Oblivion can be a pain when it comes to things falling through floors and walls, even vanilla. What you can do is to place a collison box underneath the floor, so they can't fall through. Edit: Found in CS under WorldObjects \ Static -- CollisionBox01

Even with collision boxes, it still doesn't work!I think I'm just gonna get rid of the custom cell, it's too much trouble than it's worth.

You must place the collision box underneath the floor, place your NPCs above the floor and press 'F'. And start a new game. Edit: You could also try the CollisionBox'Static' collision box -- I don't know what the difference is.
