LawfulFelafel
Hey,I just installed FCOM (succesfully, to my knowledge, as I have done it before) as well as Qarl's texture pack. Everything works fine but when I try to unlock locked containers (yes, with lockpicks in my inventory) the chests just light up purply. It doesn't go into the unlock screen or show an error message or anything. Anyone know what I need to do?
Fonger
doesn't purple mean you don't have the skill needed, so you can try bashing

I'm not fully aware of all of FCOM's features. What's bashing? TBH I only got Oblivion on PC recently, although I have thoroughly played it on Xbox. LawfulFelafel
Ok. So I finally found this out. It turns out that in OOO there's a system for picking locks in which if your security skill is too low-leveled you have to bash them open by standing still and power attacking them. I found this very odd because I am currently in the sewers leaving the imperial castle at the start of the game, but thanks for your help anyways, you helped me out. In OOO, if you try to open a lock with your weapon drawn prior to the attempt, you get the purple effect. Sheath your weapon.
