Dragon Age:Origins style "quick bar". Need UI help.

I think one area where this game is lacking is UI * combat dynamics. I feel that DA:O really hit the nail on the head as far as combat UI and dynamics go. I would like to add functionality to skyrim similar to the quickbar in DA:O. You can add items (potions, spell tomes, etc), spells, shouts, weapons to the quick bar, hotkey them and access them quite readily in battle.

Here is a reference.

Second I would like to add better follower dynamics similar to DA:O. Being able to select a follower in combat and issue an attack, spell, or swap armor/weapon command with the click of a button would be really cool.

Lastly I would like to add a queued orders dynamic similar to DA:O that allows you to pause the game mid combat to issue attacks, orders, etc.

I don't think any of these things are beyond the realm of possibility as the engine is very similar to FO:NV. I would need help. I have some experience scripting in GECK for New Vegas and can handle much of the coding, but I may need help from someone experienced and knowledgeable in the creation engine for pointers, etc.

I have 0 experience or knowledge regarding UI work, and I don't have adobe CS which I think I would need?

Lastly I am not an artist so creating discernible icons for all sorts of items, spells, etc, that are usable in the UI is beyond my capability.

I would like to put a small dedicated team together to make this happen if anyone is interested. Leave name, availability, any work you have done, and what you think you can bring to the table.

sincerely,
Swat

Well, I think what you are talking is above level of a simple mod. Skyrim is a Hack'n Slash game which uses a completely different game mechanics than rpgs like DA:O that use abilities and have automatic attack system.

I HAVE thought about it though but I don't think it is possible within bounds of the creation kit.

I absolutely think it is possible it would simply be scripting intensive. I really just need help with two or three things. I need help designing the artwork, e.g. the quickbar itself, as well as icons for all the spells, items, weapons that can go into the quickbar. I need help with programming the UI. And someone who has knowledge of papyrus/CK to kind of mentor the project. I am confident I could do much of the scripting.

do I need adobe creativity suite for this? I was hoping to find someone to do the UI scripting because it is beyond me. I am sure I could figure it out given enough time, but if I could find someone who is familiar with UI scripting it would be a God send. I would need this person to script a quickbar interface that allows a certain number of spaces to drag items, potions, spells, should, weapons, etc. to. Aiming for functionality similar to the DA quickbar. I can handle the papyrus scripting, but the front end I need help with.

I haven't invested the time to figuring it out yet myself either. Not many modders have. I'd imagine you're most likely going to have to self teach yourself for this.

That being said, schlangster has been very helpful with answering my questions in the past.
