Radiation Marker q

Adding radiation just curious about the Extra's tab settings.

- Does the radiations increase as you get closer to the marker or do you need several?

- Considering there is no visible area how do you tell what size you want? How much area does 1 radius cover I guess?

Thanks,

Geoff

Yes, the radiation level gets higher as you get closer to the marker. The number you put in for the radiation is the highest it will get, basically right at the marker.

A radius of 1 is very small. I typically use a radius of about 1000 or so if I want to cover a typical room sized area.

Excellent thanks lol I set a radius of 10 rofl need to adjust that XD.

The radiation increases the closer you get to the marker, starting at 0 and working to the full value when you get to where the marker is placed. To show the radius, hit the F4 key, which toggles collision bounds. Hit it again to turn off collision on most parts, but you'll still have a green bubble around the radiation marker (until you move it or reload the cell) and the audio marker will get a white radius marker, so you'll probably want to disable it by selecting it and hitting the '1' key twice.

EDIT: All measurements in GECK are in Units. There are ~21 units per foot, so that gives you an idea of scale of things. Most radii will need to be a few thousand to actually have much effect, unless you're trying to make very localized radiation.
