Help removing exclamation marks in game

Ok, so you know those big yellow exclamation marks that pop up to take place of a missing texture that oblivion cannot find? Well I had a "torn bear pelt" (which is what you pick up from a bear obviously after you install the creature intensity mod) or something along those lines that I dropped in the middle of the road and now there is a big exclamation mark in the middle of the road :\. Its actually not a big deal, I can still play the game knowing that there is one exclamation mark somewhere in the game taking the place of the torn bear pelt. But my question is how do you remove exclamation marks in the game and also how would you go about assigning textures/meshes to items that don't appear to have any in the menu/inventory?

Thanks!

every item has meshes and textures

i don't think that you can create an item without them (and no one will release a mod with such items)

how to fix this??

that is depending on the problem

it's either you didn't install the mod correctly, so that it can't find the meshes in your Oblivion directory

or, you just didn't use Archive Invalidation (though this would have shown such signs for anything that's not from the original game)

Actually WastelandAssassin, you can create items without any mesh or texture, and they can be used in mods quite effectively. My New Nude Spell uses such an item, and is necessary for the 'illusion' to work.

They are used mainly with a script attached to them that will run on the player, or any NPC that has that item in their inventory. They can also be used as part of a script to prevent certain if loops running within that script.

i guess you are referring to tokens or such items, that are unplayable

i know about this kind of items

what i meant was that i don't think any modder will release playable items that do not have a model or texture

if you can see the item, then you need to see it

This is a complete guess on my part as I have never done this with a missing mesh sign, but if you open the console and click on it, if anything registers, then typing disable then closing the console will get rid of it.

That is just putting a bandaid on the problem, instead of curing the illness.

You need to correct the installation of the mod that the torn bear pelt comes from. The exclamation mark is telling you that the game cannot find the correct mesh.
