TrashB0t
Ok so I have been attempting to play fallout 3 recently, that was an uphill struggle to say the least, and It was all going hunky dory. I installed a few mods, and it was working fine. Then I tried to enter megaton (keep in mind I had already been there several times) and it crashed in the loading screen. COC commands, nor fast travelling, nor using the moveto command to move to an NPC in megaton has prevented the crashing. I've tried several fixes online, including: doing a master patch thingy with FO3Edit, Disabling all mods and DLC, removing all non base game files into a separate backup folder. None of these have made any progress, so can any of you dudes figure out how to fix this/diagnose what's wrong? Thanks.

EvilDeadAsh34
I would agree that a mod is likely causing the crashes... But the only other thing i can think of is a possible cell or save corruption. I remember the last time i played FO3 i couldn't enter the cell to Germantown without my game crashing. It was due to a bad cell caused by autosaving. If disabling all your mods doesn't stop the crashing then you should try loading older manual saves so you can find a working one where you can still enter Megaton. If it is a save corruption (and not a mod conflict) and you don't have any manual saves you are likely screwed. Like i said, when i got the Germantown corruption i had to search through a ton of old saves to find one before the corruption happened. I lost many hours of gameplay but it was all i could do to salvage my game. I know this may be very annoying but you should never play with autosaving or overwrite saves. It causes problems.
