Daemarian
I've learned that faction work is good, but you do actually have to go out and do some freelance work to really get anywhre level wise. Heck in house Telvanni I achieved the rank of Mouth or so well before I broke to double digit mark in levels. But factions are good, they give you some revenue, unless you pick the legion (but if you are heavy or medium armor the legion will give you a couple suits of armor at no cost, you only have to atleast wear the Cuirass when around those that are of a higher rank to you) or the temple; as well as give you a group that likes you alot which leads to better merchant deals through your faction. Bloodflow
Thanks for all great responses. Malchik - Where can I find the rising force potions to get to Master Aryon? And I have yet another n00b question..... What determines if I am in "sneak" mode? There are times when I will come up from behind a monster, crouching, but it wont go into sneak mode. Other times I can be in plain sight of certain monsters and it lets me sneak. I thought you could sneak only when you were out of sight of the creater/npc. How exactly does it work? Bloodflow
Nevermind. Found some potions and did the quest. :D Thanks for the tip
Switch
As for sneaking, you press Ctrl any time and you can sneak. But only if an icon appears in the bottom left corner (looks a bit like a loop of rope IMO but it's meant to be a hand over a ring) can you steal/make a critical hit without getting caught. Chameleon helps in the success of this.
Bloodflow
But what determines being able to sneak? I thought that only when you arent in view of an npc, you could sneak. But there are times when I am completely out of view of any npc and it wont let me sneak (or in plain view of an npc and it does let me)
Dijas
JUST press Ctrl. If the icon "Switch" mentioned appears and you actually rob whatever you want, you'll be sneaking. And buy or enchant an item with Camaleon. It helps a lot.
Daemarian
to be extremely specific, your Sneak skill determins it. I haven't complete figured out how it is exactly leveled up. I think it only rises it your Sneak icon is visible near another person or creature, maybe if you can actually steal something from someone or hit them with critical damage, I guess I have a question along those lines too, can't you only be hit with critical damage if you are hit in the back or don't expect the attack?...doubt that answered your question though. FrozenGod86
o.k. Well i can try to help you get good items so you are more safe. If you are a thief you are probably skilled with light armor so.... Get a level 100 open enchanted item made and go to Tel Fyr which is located SW of Sadrith Mora and levitate to where Dilith Fyr or what ever his name is and there is a level 100 lock on a cabinet in a small room by itself, open it and get the curiass of the saviors hide. It is in the top 10 best curiasses overall, and the best light armor curiass. Plus it resists magicka 60%. Now go to Burandas located south of Gnisis. Enter the main building and go to the lowest level. all you have to fight is a few mages, skeletons, 2 or three damoras, and two winged twilights. Then after the winged twilights, you will see a dead adventurer at the in the same chamber, or area. take the boots off him and they are also some of the best light armor boots. Also if you want the rest of a good armor set go to suran and find the orc walking around near the top of the second set of steps and taunt her till she fights you, kill her and take the glass armor off of her. Now you should be able to explore alot more, and you have a good set of armor for the time. Note: there is a guy on the dren plantation north of Vivic in a elevated shack near the slaves who has a daadric di katana which is a good starter longblade. All of the items should go with your character. dark elves are sapose to be good with all the items above. Have fun exploring! Add to the forum if i was any help.
