Oblivion Mod Detectives

Hi

I bought this game to have some fun before skyrim is out getting into the medieval mood, but i find the game unplayable in third person "as the camera is behind the players head making it very troublesome to see what i am attacking". I much prefer the third person that's offered with Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Now i have searched http://www.tesnexus.com/ but every third person mod i have found replaces the first person with a improved third person effectively leaving me with a broken third person and a useful third person.

So my question is, is there any mod that has already edited the third person camera into a Fallout 3 / Fallout New Vegas style while keeping the first person.

If not, is there any way to create a mod that would perform this ? (Encase this is the only option, this information will also be posted in Oblivion Mod Requests http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/403999-default-third-person-cameria/)

//Extra Information

Version: Oblivion Game of the Year ( Steam Version)

Patches: Fully Updated (No unofficial Patches)

Downloadable Content: Own All DLC Content

Software: OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) and OBMM ( Oblivion Mod manager)

OS: Windows 7 Professional N

I use this 3rd person mod and I really like it http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29942

The only problem is it doesn't retain 1st person like you were asking... Which can make it a little troublesome to talk to some npcs, as your character more often than not ends up in front of their face :P I read a few forums posts about that problem, and it seems that it is impossible for some reason to have the modified 3rd and still have a first person view.

But if anyone can prove me wrong and find such a mod, I too would be grateful.

Can anyone identify these armors? I'm particularly interested in the one second from the left, and on the right in the top row, and second from the left in the bottom row.

Both mods listed remove the first person :( which though 90% is not useful in some Close quarter fights is needed, as well as u said trying to talk to some npcs or just picking up random items

The one on the bottom right looks like it's from Assassin's Creed but I can't find that version on Tesnexus. Maybe it's a private conversion.

Looks like it's Ezio's gear. I know it was once uploaded on TESNexus, but now it's gone...

Greetings. I recently began playing Oblivion again for one more go before Skyrim. I have tried overhaul after overhaul (including a home brew, which I spent weeks on.) One problem I have continually run into, however, is a serious lack of challenge. I am hoping the mod detectives can help me find a mod or three which will assist with this problem; however, in the interest of fairness, I feel obliged to qualify a couple of things.

First: what I mean by challenge. I have Deadly Reflex with timed block, plus weapon damage from TIE. I have a stealth overhaul. I have living economy with cutthroat merchants. So I do not need harder combat/stealth/mercantile.

Rather, I am referring to a more brutal gameworld as a whole. I want to struggle to survive, to stay one step ahead in the game world. I want to struggle to have what I need to get by, not strive to be a sword-wielding Bill Gates with a Billion Septims in the bank. Gold sinks would be nice, other than player homes and castles, I mean. Something to make my character really need to fight, need to go out, adventuring. Quests are nice and all, but I am a roleplayer and when my character has more gold than the Emperor's Treasury by level 20 it sort of kills the motivation for further adventures, from a role play standpoint.

I am open to solutions here, believe me. Anything anyone can think of to create additional "gold sinks" or struggles for the player. The more immersive the better. Something that represents a need to struggle and fight just to scrape by in a harsh world.

Second thing: The mod or mods I am searching for might not exist. If not, that is ok; I will have to make do or make them. If no one can think of anything or if a consensus of experienced mod detectives returns with a "Sorry, no such mod found" I am ok with this and will not blame you. I just thought I would pipe up here and ask the veterans.

Thanks either way!

You can try Basic Primary Needs that will enhance the immersion for you and Francesco's with extra hardcore loot. If you make a mod that will increase the prices of food and drink, you would actually need to work to afford it. I also think there's a value to increase repair costs and training costs in th CS settings. Those are the only things that come to mind at the moment.
