what happend to the best guns in fallout?

When i played fallout 1-2, and tactics they had several gauss weapons. One was the PPk12, the other two was gauss rife and the MEC gauss minigun. not tomention the H&K claw shotgun. I mean the gauss weapons were powerfull, But the shotgun that was also a machingun, had its moments to. now with added ammo types and perks that shotgun would be a killer. Meaning what it would make up in lost of damage it would make up in versatility. The riot shotgun is worthless against deathclaw; becouse of the rate of fire. this would include the gauss rifle. it has huge amounts of damage, but very slow rate of fire. The other thing that made the game harder was the lack of the stealth suit ability which made the fallout game a little easier without reling on the stealth boy. What they are someone in this community should do is bring back those guns and armor as well as add a 12mm guage grenade round for the shotgun which is affected by demmilition and splash damage. The only thing that i could give a plus on this is the new amunition for the gauss rife that was rare first, but now is more commen becouse it uses MC instead. So if the other gausses were to be made that would be its ammo.

Those weapons and armor were the top of the line when i used them in the last fallout games the shotgen now in New vegas has more of a role now that there are perks and ammo types for it. the gauss weapons were the overkill weapons next to the alien blaster, but is ammo then were very rare. now, its more commen thanks to the switch of ammo types.

 

The first and only solice i get in New vegas is the flamer and the incenerater gets the meltdown perk pluse the increase of damege with pyromaniac perk. The secend is the shotgun has become a swiss army knife of small guns. The theard thing is the swich in gauss ammo for easer find.

 

I love fire, gauss, and shotgun weapons for there versatility and power, but some weapons are missing. They should stop thinking of new weapons and start bringing back the old powerhouses. I mean full firing shotgun that acks like a machine gun and does a three round burst in vats. including some of its newer ammo typer. It would be humers KO and dropping a deathclaw with three round burst of beanbag round with a shotgun like H&K claw.

I agree more guns would be fun, but if they made them much more powerful and the game much easier I could probably play it with my eyes closed.

 

Right now I'm working on a hardcore character on normal difficulty where I'm trying to see how far I can before I die once. So far I've made it all the way to The Strip and am working on learning more about the tribes... the lack of difficulty is astounding.

I had to admet, that taking down deathclaws when the game first came out was a lot harder and fun, when there armor was like 20 to 30, not 15 and below. Funny thing is that the minigun and gatling laser was pretty much useless against them. Edited by Firestorm01

The ballistic fist is nice but you have to get close to the enemy not to mention you need speed to do so. that would include light armor, and having a bunch of deathclaws nipping at your heels is not that fun.

The anti-matrial rifle is a + if your using vats or just aming the rate of fire is pathetic especally surrounded by leagon or deathclaws. not to mention there is no silencer.

The fatman is a joke of a weapon not only does it have bad vats percent, but if you missfire you tend to blow yourself away. the only + to it is its one-shot kill.

The H&K shotgun I am thinking of would be more a versitlity tool (varyation of power and accuracy, the ability to ignore armor, knocking opission out fast, knock them down "dlc of dead money," and if gurnades explosive) and the guass weapons power behind them with a bonuse that if fired does not kill you like the fatman or gurnade machingun. THe other benifit is shotguns have spread patterns so damaging muiltiple body parts is a huge pluse for me.

 

P.S. having a shotgun that turns ammo into grenade rounds then into a normal will inside closed rooms will make finding items a lot easer, whithout the risk moving every item in the room explosin. i been in some buildings and in some of them you cant affored having enemes getting close to you like fist leangth. that espacialy during very hard. The other thing is using a sniper rifle is great open doors, but when entering places were enemys are in your face most of the time, not to mention its high ap cost, the anti-matrial like most snipers rifle is useless.

If you have the YCS/186 guass rifle then you can do up to 350 damage per shot which can kill a deathclaw in one hit without a critical shot. And yes, unless you are playng on very hard, the riot shotgun will kill deathclaws very easily, at least for me.
