NBalchemist
I noticed it's 33% off on Steam until the 27th, but I'm not sure if it's worth $40.19. I'm a fan of Elder Scrolls, I've spent hundreds of hours in Oblivion and Skyrim each and I enjoy World of Warcraft. It's more tempting now that there's no sub, just buy the game and it's yours, but a friend of mine was a beta tester and not only did he not enjoy the game, but he was getting spam emails from ESO gold sellers who had somehow gotten his email. Is it better now? What do you guys think? Worth the $40?
azterixmc
IMHO, ESO just isn't worth the hefty price tag... I signed up for it during it's first release and was unfortunately dissapointed ;( It follows alot of mmorpgs and is fun ti play, but doesn't have the feel of an Elder Scrolls game. I had a fun time playing it with my two friends, and it was obviously an enjoyable experience- im not gonna lie. But it doesn't live up to the likes of Skyrim and Oblivioooohn. I'd say if you do like mmorpgs, and have that kinda $$$ you can buy it. Make sure you have friends to play with, it makes things 10x funner-- just make sure you join the same pact xD The email problem can be solved eaasily- open a new gmail account ;) Thats just my 1.25 cents but uhh, hope it was helpful ;)
billyro
Depends. It's not a bad MMO - it's actually pretty good. But is it as good as the single-player Elder Scrolls games? Nope. But, if you're an MMO fan, then you'll probably enjoy it. I got 40 hours into ESO before I grew bored of it, but that's better than the other MMOs I've tried. Meihyr
Having played most of the ES titles (Just not Daggerfall) - I think that ESO is WAY more challenging and that is what makes it enjoyable.
NBalchemist
I just bought it. I don't have any friends who would play it, so I'd be playing by myself, which is exactly how I play WoW, too. Now to wait for it to download, which steam says will take 4 hours >.<
billyro
4 hours? It took me over 12 hours! :P
NBalchemist
I'm not sure if it's including the patch in the initial download, since the store page said 85 gbs and the download it's doing says 48.1 gbs. So it probably will take 8+ hours haha.
drakkyn
I play ESO still and find it still enjoyable in small time increments. As long as you don't expect the depth of a regular ESO game .. it is still just an MMO and there are lots of grind-ish quests but its free to play after purchase so there isnt a money commitment.
