thebeast505
Oblivion is my favorite game out of the elder scrolls series. It was also my first elder scrolls game.I loved skyrim at launch, but the hype died down long ago and I miss the fantasy/bright look of oblivion.Skyrim just seems so damp and dreary compared to oblivion. I have tried going back to oblivion but I just can't get used to the combat/general clunkiness feel. Are there any mods that make skyrim look like oblivion? Trees, lighting, architecture maybe, anything really. I appreciate any input, thanks!
jones177
Hi That is one of the reasons I use ENB. Using Realvision http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30936/? plus Skyrim Flora Overhaul http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/141/? Dose the trick for me. The down side is the hardware you need to do it at high resolutions. Considering I was buying video cards & cpus about every 6 months to to get any performance out of a modded Oblivion, Skyrim has been a cheap ride. vram1974
Not that I'm aware of, no. It's unfortunate because Oblivion was so lush with trees and plants but those things will KILL your framerates in Skyrim. This helps the ambiance though: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30568/? MikJames
Grab one of the summer/spring/tropical in skyrim mods. Some of them convert the entire landscape to summer or tropical, others leave the snow intact in the northern holds while converting the rest to spring/summer. I know what you mean regarding the dreariness. I live in Canada so i prefer to gaze upon warmer/greener grass than i'm used to seeing ~7 months out of the year  Edited July 29, 2015 by MikJames
soupdragon1234
If the dreary lighting bothers you download one of the lighting mods RLO - Weathers for one makes it much brighter greener and warmer generally. Can't live without it myself, vanilla lighting is beyond dreary, its depressing.
shep8234
I know for a fact that there is a project going on right now to make Obvlion to run on Skyrims game engine, and so far it looks pretty sweet.
